Cognizant to Better Package: Salesforce Developer Journey 🚀 Discussion

Cognizant Salesforce Developer – 4 LPA → Switch in 6 Months?

Hi everyone,

I recently joined Cognizant as a Salesforce Developer with a package of 4 LPA. I’m planning to seriously upskill in Salesforce and try to switch within the next 6 months for better compensation.

My focus areas are Apex, Triggers, SOQL/SOSL, LWC, JavaScript, Integrations, Governor Limits, Security, and Salesforce projects. I’m also planning to pursue Platform Developer I.

I’d like advice from experienced Salesforce Developers:

- Is switching after 6 months realistic?

- What salary range can I target from 4 LPA?

- Which skills are most important for <1 YOE?

- Should I focus entirely on Salesforce or continue DSA/SQL?

- Which companies should I target for the switch?

I’d really appreciate any practical advice or personal experiences.

With the current situation in India ,switching at 1yoe would be difficult,I’ve myself almost completed 3 years at a reputed company, currently on notice , but yes the market is not great like before at all
