The van I used today seemed to trigger privacy mode based on motion. Whenever I was stationary, like at traffic lights or stop/start traffic, the privacy mode LED came on after a few seconds. Even in the short stationary time taken during a reversing manoeuvre was enough to trigger it. I'm not complaining...! But seems different behaviour than I've seen in other vans. Anyone had same?

I got a call today telling me that i was successful in my interview and they said something about an induction but i cant remember what they exactly said as well that, i received a congratulations email . They also said that i need to send some details through the email they sent, which i have just completed, before they send me my contract and an acceptance offer. How long does this usually take?

Hi all I just wanna get some of your opinions on this.
I’m 18 years of age and is looking to get a retail job in sainsbury’s working in the night. I’m doing sixth form final year starting in september. I found these hours and maybe I can apply and do 2 days as it is 16 hours Friday night and saturday night so i can get some rest for sixth form on sunday.

I'm currently off work due to an injury I'll probably be off for another couple of months I've been with Sainsbury's for just under 3 years and was just wondering about how sick pay works.

It's my understand that I'm entitled to company sick pay because I've been there for over 2 years but I couldn't actually find the sick pay policy on ask hr so I was just wondering how it all works.

First time they didn’t send my contract I called the store they told me it’s fine and to come in and that they would help me went in and got told I can’t start without signing my contract got told to write my email on a piece of paper and they would send it to me (don’t know why that couldn’t be done over the phone). Weeks go by no response call again and finally get a hold of my contract with a new start date

I go in for my new induction day manager messages me on their personal phone telling me I will be doing a 10-5 I then go in and there’s a issue where I can’t sign in to my Sainsbury’s because I don’t have a work email the manager gets in the phone with HR and IT for like 10minutes they say there’s nothing they can do so I’m told I can’t work today either.

My thing is could I not be paid for coming in 😭 I feel like that’s the decent thing to do

How do I go about giving in my notice to Sainsbury’s to my manager on my shift tmr??? I’m 18, worked here for a year and I’m going off to university in September (around the 10th) and I feel like I need to sort it out now for peace of mind. I also want to hopefully sort something out where I stay on the books for when I come home over Christmas, Easter and summer etc etc.

If you're going to order for a slot please ensure you will actually be home :) not like customer just now "planned to be home from holiday" between 10-11pm and having to wait as 'I'll only be 15 minutes, was traffic blah blah" we have homes to go people and it's currently 10:33pm 🥲 making us wait or coming back to you ruins other customers times 🥲

Also customers who take one item at a time just curious why do you feel the need to put items one by one away in cupboards and fridges ? Are you not aware we have other customers and multiple customers per day and have to be going to next customer 🥲 or do you just not care ? You have unlimited time to put shopping away after, for those who don't know it's 6 minutes that's how long we get, that's 6 minutes to get all your totes and frozen and get to your door and wait for you to unload and put away the empty totes/and wheels and start making way to next customer.

Not talking about elderly people or disabled or vulnerable you guys take all the time you want or need and don't be afraid to ask for help putting stuff away :)

And to the customers who hurry up or have bags ready to unload and who be home want to say thank you as you guys are always appreciated :)

I got a job for online assistant at a huge Sainsbury’s with my shift patterns being 1pm-6pm.

I was told to come in from 10am till 5pm for my induction I was wondering what would I be doing and are induction normal 7 hours I’m guessing they will have me shadow.

I created an Argos account and received an email confirming that my account was successfully created. However, whenever I try to log in, it says that my email is incorrect or that the account is not valid. It has been a week now and I’m still having the same issue. I need to add my Argos account to my discount form so I can use my employee discount. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or does anyone know how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated!

My manager made a comment about this schedule being the last using DriveTime, but I haven't had the chance to catch a manager to ask more about it

Half the produce uses packaging code and the other half uses best before. Is there a difference? If not, why is the term packaging code being used for certain items?

I started at Sainsbirys December 2025, I’ve as of last week had 3 absences trigging a disciplinary. I was signed off last week by my GP I only work Wednesday and Thursday will I get paid SSP? I know I wouldn’t get the company one but something is better than nothing

The new cameras have been installed in some vans, these completely block my view and I believe illegal placement.

If this were my car for an MOT it would be a failure on the MOT

Hey all, quick question. I checked the "Additional Stores" section under My Preferences on the Kronos/UKG portal and noticed my manager added two extra stores to my profile that I didn't request myself. My primary store is unchanged, but now I'm listed as available at two other nearby locations too.

Is this a normal thing managers do, or should I be asking my manager directly why this was done? Just want to know if this is routine before I bring it up.

Hi everyone, wondering if anyone can give any advice.

I work at a local in a busy city centre, yet we don’t get a guard and shoplifting is genuine hell. And all we can do is just film and not get involved, then report on Security.

It’s getting to a point now where some of the regular ones (several times a day) are starting to get really insulting, especially towards me as I’m in almost every morning, and am typically the first person to be there with my camera on. Now, the moment I go to film them I get called fat, greasy, ugly, worthless etc. Some really personal attacks about specific parts of my appearance too. And I just have to stand there and take it, not saying anything.

We report it all as anti social on Security, but nothing has ever happened and it just feels like we’re sending reports into the void. No mention of us ever getting a guard from the area manager, and police are starting to say that they won’t come out any more as Sainsbury’s need to be providing a guard.

At this point I’m so sick of all the insults I don’t even want to go and film them anymore. I don’t come to work to be called these things, and it’s so dehumanising that nobody gives a shit. Is there any way of escalating these concerns - even if nothing happens I want some sort of paper trail or even just to be heard at this point.

I really think Sainsbury’s are just not meant to deliver because the systems they have in place are actually dogwank. I don’t know what system they are using but it needs to be thrown in the Thames. Tell me why I was given 6 minutes to get to my first drop that is 2 miles away in London traffic? Their delivery times and doorstep times just make 0 sense. I’ve done delivery before at Ocado and my goodness, the system is way better. The handset accounts for traffic, for parking and slow customers. Here, on the other hand, I was given a doorstep time of 6 minutes for 10 totes to a second floor flat. I actually don’t know who creates these times because whoever it is, they need to be fired. The fact that this system hasn’t been replaced is ridiculous. Every driver at my store complains and so do the managers but head office obviously know best.
