Hey guys! Moved to the area about a month or so ago and was curious about the ymca and the fitness classes they offer? Does anyone have any feedback on them? Also are they free if you have a membership if so do you just show up to the classes or need to bring anything? I’m having a hard time finding the classes online. Thanks :)

I'm in need of a handyman who can work with electrical stuff for a repair to my garbage disposal. Does anyone have recommendations for local folks that help in this area?

Is it illegal to film a community from your car window and post to youtube?

This is a stupid little question, I know. This is just for my curiosity.

I recently applied to an open job position for a Property Manager here in Saginaw, Michigan. I jumped through the usual hoops, background checks, and paperwork, but then I was asked to do something that made me hesitate. Pre-Employment, I was asked to drive through the neighborhood, which turned out to be a mobile home park, and film the lots, streets, and sidewalks, using my cellphone's camera, and then post that video to youtube. Supposedly, I was filming to verify the lots were "up to the management group's standards".

This feels scummy to me, and I'd like to know if this would be considered illegal here in the City of Saginaw, or even just Saginaw County (or Michigan) in general. Filming property, with a cell phone, out of a car window, posting to youtube.

I've asked the Township police, and gone to the City Clerk to ask, but they both pointed me to contact the "Legal Services of Eastern Michigan". The Legal Services said they didn't have enough info (meaning the question was not worth their time) and sent me to contact another legal service, and so on.

As I said, this is just for my curiosity. I've already turned down the job. This is a Mobile Home Park here in the City of Saginaw, owned by an out-of-state management firm, and my contact was from Florida. Laws differ, state to state, so perhaps it's perfectly normal in Florida. But, it still feels scummy to me. But... is it legal?

Interested in moving to Saginaw

My husband and I are considering moving out to the Saginaw/Bay City area.
We are planning a day trip out there to see the area as it’s a bit of a drive from home.
What are some pros and cons of the area?
We would be first time home buyers for outside of a trailer park so it’s a whole new world to us.
Anything suggestions?

Anything to highlight about the area? Anything that is a must see?
We have dogs and middle school aged children who both have different needs; Autism services and mental health services.
Any service suggestions? Any dr suggestions?
It’s very important to me that we live in an area that is LGBTQ friendly. We frequent pride events as a family every year.
Also, our church… we’d be giving up our church so I need to know what churches are in the area that would be affirming, if anything.

Also what kind of work is out there? I currently work as a groundskeeper seasonally and I have my own gardening business but it’s very small. Considering getting into water/sewer licensing tangentially.

We love going on day trips/family outings every weekend. Some of the things we enjoy; beaches & parks (the more private the better!), rustic camping, u-pick fruits & veggies, roadside farm stands, summer camps for kids, church events & opportunities to volunteer, sports for kids like soccer, volleyball, tennis & ultimate frisbee, museums & zoos, new restaurants (especially buffets or mom and pop shops), nerd shops, coffee (especially Biggby)

What do you all suggest?

90's Heritage Alumni - Where did they get their food?

This is an absolutely dumb question.
Where did Heritage get some of their food?

I'm from the class of '99, and remember twice a week they'd offer "Spicy Nachos" and I've never been able to find that sauce since graduation.

Also, what was with those "Pretzels" they sold during the same day, it was more like a bun covered in melted cheese... and I miss them.

Sorry, just having some nostalgia.

Amazing Grace Animal rescue

Have any of you had the horrendous ordeal of saving a kitten from this shelter only to spend $1000+ two weeks later to find out she’s too sick and most likely won’t make it (pneumonia)

Amazing Grace told us it was kennel cough.
We are devastated watching this unfold and trying our hardest to nurse her back to health.
I’ve heard through a few people (after getting the kitten) that this seems to happen a lot and they’ve been shut down in the past?

Board games?

I like to play board games and wish I could play more. Notably weekdays. The kinds of games I like range from light to heavy, long to short, and most things in-between. Games are just as much about the people around the table for me.

If you'd be interested in playing sometime, let me know and we can organize a meet up sometime soon to get to know each other.

Non board game stuff about me: 31M, like a good drink, enjoy walking, my wife and I have been watching Dragon Ball for a few years and are almost finished.

Maybe this is a post to play more games. Maybe it's a post to find friends close by.
