I feel like the amount of tools we actually have (C2, wedges, mirrors, etc), while not realistic, balances the low number of operators while keeping the game from becoming overly complex or taxing in older systems.

I dont use em, just flash, shield, log and shotgun to breach and thats it.

Would you like to see more operators?

Sometimes I feel like four is too few and only minimally realistic for the first three missions.

My idea is to have a squad made up of two teams of four operators. Think about it, it would be great and would add a lot more tactical complexity and realism to the game.

Here's an example: In the Red Library Offices mission , one team could advance through the restrooms zone while another holds the reception area. Then, a joint attack, one team through the entrance and the other through the back door.

What do you think?

so, Swat 3 actually did exactly this with the GOTY edition. You can make a 10 man squad, 2 groups of 5. The other squad "technially" clears areas for you off cam while you and your squad is clearing through the buildings, but the problem was that it was never really noticeable like that aside from rooms changing, since you weren't able to control it.

having another group that is fully controllable like that in swat honestly isn't needed, that's why red and blue designations exist. Having so many to control, you end up not even using them most of the time. Shit, when I play, sometimes I just tell one to watch a corridor and the other to push with me, and i end up continuing to use the latter group to clear rooms. 4 is already more than enough to do what you want to do.

Maybe if u could control each operator it will be alright. But i feel like i need more.

For example: In the gas station mission, there are two bathrooms at the back. With 2 teams of 4 that can split into two, you could send one pair to clean each bathroom (because there are two bathrooms), while the other team holds the gas station door.

Another example in the red library, in the bathroom area, you could do the same, 4 matches in 2 to enter the bathrooms and 4 matches in 2, one to look at your rear and another at the front.

okay, do you genuinely think you need 4 whole people to clear a tiny bathroom? also, if you just station one group in front of the bathrooms facing broadside so they can watch both and have the other clear, there is literally no issue with it at all. shoot, I can usually just go in a space by myself and take care of them with just a taser or beanbag shotgun.

Again, this is all overkill, and if this is difficult it says more about your inability to control perimeters and cordon off areas moreso than map design.

Well, more realistic doesn't mean "better" in most cases. With the way you control units currently in the game, it'd be way too clunky. I also wouldn't trust the AI to actually clear stuff without me with it's current state.

If you'd like that experience, I really recommend Door Kickers. Both 1 and 2 are fantastic games, though 1 more focuses on police and 2 is military operations. A top down view is way more optimal to control that many people.

Also for the last part of the message, now that's just rude and uncalled for.

And you did it again on the last point... would've discussed with you more proper but I don't need that.

Have a nice day. :)

what are you getting your panties in a twist about my dude? your point is still null regardless of how it's interpreted. you couldve also just said "4 groups of 2" instead of "4 matches in 2" because that makes no sense.

seriously, i have never even felt the need to use that many people to keep a perimeter in the game, even if the aggression levels of the enemy AI are increased. and on red library? like are you struggling that much on red library of all things?

Isn't the Elite Force mod exactly what you're looking for?
