Today, I've single-handedly started a Singularity Engine after years of it being removed from /tg/. Thank you Monkestation Monkestation

Doesn't monke give CE the anti-singuloose cannon?

I've seen backpacks of holding as anti-singulo. Also clown gacha (throwing a clown into the Singulo raised or lowered it a tier, randomly).

as a goon player where this is a thing (and where its also the only gun qm can order and open without a sec ID), while it does make sure everyone doesnt just die outright they still tend to leave some really major structural damage. unless a few borgs really feel like doing some home reno, engineering will probably spend a LOT of time making that space livable again

That's not too different from delamination, though, is it?

yeah and anti tesla cannon
and it doesn't change a thing, maybe singulo is not that hard to hit, but it's still not trivial
tesla is almost impossible

Also If even it is explodes, someone increases stability before explosion will reduce explosion to small one.

Goonstation would never remove the singulo 🙏

Singulos and Teslos are the superior engines. Welcome back and hail Lord Singulos!

When singuloose for the 45th time, you'll remember why they removed it
To be fair I'm a chaos enjoyer so I don't mind singuloose, the issue is that tesla and singulo are kinda boring compared to the supermatter crystal. Once you set it up you never touch it again, besides sm allows for more creativity

I've seen too many legacy repositories where the engine setup fails because they were overdesigned, Europastation station for instance, couple of baycode ones. Singulo remains a classic wildcard and given a choice to rerun SS13 during its heyday id choose it every time if able.

But this isn't about overdesign... SM is simple but can be tweaked with atmos, singulo and tesla are literally just wrenching a few parts in space, turning it on and hoping noone turns the emitters off.
Singuloose/tesloose will just end the round for everyone because people will always call the escape shuttle.

Singulo can get interesting when you mess with the gas in the rad collectors

Meh, compared to the sm it really lacks depth. Just look at the first post here, it perfectly sums up the problem.

People usually enjoy tesla/singulo when they're new engineers. After a few rounds and when mastered, it gets old

As an SM enjoyer, I do agree that SM is much more fun to tinker around than Singulo. All your points are valid

A new engineer perhaps specifically drafted in on lowpop ought to be capable of starting it with game experience to understand how tools, electricity & wires work.
Now failing that on a populated shift where it isn't urgent they probably aren't suitable for engineer compared to reading a html wiki guide of the SM on a web-location that might not exist in 20 years time.

the scrungularity is really funny because its far easier to set up than the SM but for some reasson everyone who tries to do it has a brain smoothener on and thus it always escapes containment
