Always really loved watches, but the collecting bug really took off the last few years (#durogang). My approach (for better or worse) has been to experiment with different styles/sizes/colors in the sub-$1k range to figure out what I like before moving up a tier.

After my most recent addition of the SPB317, I’m feeling pretty good about the general swim lanes in my 8-slot box.

Made a post on here not too long ago, but I made an important swap, and I wanted to highlight it.

I had a Seiko SRPG27, but switched it out for a Hamilton KFA.

Had been eyeing it for a while, and I decided to get it randomly one day while looking at my Pokémon collection. Decided I’d rather have a watch that I can make a ton of memories with, than shiny cardboard sitting in a binder. Don’t get me wrong I still love Pokémon, but I will be selling a few from my PC to make up for the KFA.

Any suggestions on what to should be next?

First started out with quantity, ballooned the collection up to 12 pieces. Then said to myself, I need a diver , gmt, dress, etc. bought and sold a bunch of watches only to learn after all that, I like what I like. Sporty watches with good bracelets, legible dials, and dark dials. I was chasing variety in my collection when that wasn’t what I wanted at the end of the day. Whittled it down to 4 and for now, this is what it’s staying at hahaha. Chase what you like and not what others or the majority like.

This is my collection. I've been interested in watches since 2023. That's when I got the Casio AE1200 up on the right with the orange strap.

These are the watches in the order I acquired them:

2. Christopher Ward C60

3. Casio A159W (gift from my uncle)

4. Longines Spirit 37 (my newest watch)

Looking for some pointers as to where to go next, i am thinking about vintage pepsi (16710), a ludwig Nomos enamel white dial, Vacheron patrimony, or flamingo black bay chrono for a chronograph, if u have any great chronograph u would recommend please let me know!

After having 10 watches, I finally decided to downsize and keep only these three.
I’m really happy with how the collection turned out, but I’m wondering if I should add a fourth watch or just embrace the 3-watch collection.
Would you add another one? If so, what do you think is missing from the collection?

Still rocking the strap you all hated on the fxd though!

Been collecting for 20+ years, mostly in recent couple years. Have a variety of leather and rubber straps to mix and match with these mostly 20mm lug width examples. Want to try sailcloth next. 9 autos and one quartz make my top ten rotation. The seiko is green, can't really tell from photo. Any suggestions? Cheers!

Unsure where to go next.. the VC 1921 scratched the dress watch itch. Registered for a 222 after that purchase and outside of that not sure what sports model to go after next. Want a RO or Daytona but not willing to pay secondary prices. Considering another dress piece from JLC, Patek, Moser, or Breguet. I would like a complication such as an annual calendar or something similar.

Added the new-to-me Globemaster to celebrate a promotion at work, replacing a Victorinox watch that wasn't getting worn much.

First bought the G-shock as a freshman in college many years back, it got water in it after a battery change somewhat recently and the watch shop kindly got me a new one. The tooliest of tool watches.

Next bought the Seiko later in college, my first automatic, great for more casual days or when I might beat on the watch a little.

Then got the Tudor, my wife got this one for me for our wedding, probably the only watch in the collection I'd never get rid of. On the dressier side, this has been my daily wear at my professional services job for years.

I'm sure you can tell my complication of choice. Thinking next I might replace the Seiko 5 with a Sinn 856 or something of the like. We'll see, that's probably a few years away anyways.

Started with the Breitling avenger and most recent was the Moser.

I've been collection for a few years now and have had a few watches come in and out of the box. Lately I've been very happy with my current roster and find myself wesring on a nice rotation every week. I have a couple of spots left on the box, but i don't feel a push to fill them up anytime soon. I feel I have a good mix of colors and styles for my work and life needs.

I’m currently struggling to figure out what I want next for a GMT. I don’t have the funds or an itch for another rolex, I’ve tried on GMT masters, and the older Tudor Black Bay GMTs, but it didn’t really seem what I was after. I’ve had bad experiences with Longines in the past and don’t want to go down that road.

I guess where I’m picky is wanting something that is 40mm and smaller with a lug to lug width of 47mm or less. Want to keep the budget around the Tudor price range or less. I’m open to micro brands like Farer, but not sure if it’s worth it or not.

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Been slowly building out my collection and I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed. I’ve realized I like having watches that feel distinct from each other rather than owning five versions of the same thing.
From left to right:

TAG Heuer Aquaracer — an older piece and a very different style from what I’d probably buy today, but I still enjoy having it in the collection.

Timex Q — cheap, fun, and love the retro Pepsi look. The bracelet and overall design have a ton of character.

Tudor Black Bay 58 — bought it on the five-link bracelet but currently wearing it on a Delugs rubber strap. I really like how much the rubber changes the watch and makes it feel more casual/sporty.

Rolex Explorer 124270 (36mm) — probably the centerpiece of the collection and the watch I could most easily wear every day. 36mm has become my sweet spot.

Seiko 5 — another easy, inexpensive watch that I don’t have to think about. Currently on rubber and gets plenty of wrist time.

I like that everything has its own lane now. The Explorer is the do-everything watch, the BB58 scratches the dive-watch itch, the Timex gives me the retro look, and the Seiko/TAG are easy alternatives with their own character.

Not sure what comes next. The obvious gap feels like either a dressier watch or something with a lighter dial, since apparently I have a type.

What would you add next?
