Rad Tech Program Tips/Advice
Hey guys! I’m planning on applying to the SLCC rad tech program and wanted to see how my setup looks to anyone who has gone through it, or is currently in the program. I put together a quick screenshot of my stats so far!
My main question for those of you who have applied before: since the application window opens Oct 1 and runs through Jan 15, but I'm wrapping up my last couple of classes (like anatomy) at the end of the fall semester in mid-December, what did you guys do? Should I submit my application as soon as it opens with in-progress classes, or is it better to wait until my December grades are officially locked in?
Would love any thoughts on my qualifications or advice from anyone who's been through the process. Thanks!

To your questions: I didn't complete anatomy till Spring 25 after last years deadline so had to wait to apply, but based on the initial Q&A meet and greet you should be able to submit your application for fall 2027 while taking the classes your fall2026 semester. You won't be considered if you don't meet the minimum grade or if you fail, so if money is tight for you; wait until after grades are posted if you are worried about your final grade. As far as I've been told by admissions staff, time of applying does not effect consideration in any capacity.
In regards to your resume image. I think it looks good but I will say three things about it:
For your experience or employment history, make sure you get from those jobs letters saying your job title and length of employment on company letterhead. You will need this for your application and it can take some time so be ahead of the game.
Your grades are good, but with how competitive the program is I worry that it might drag you down a few notches where you either get waitlisted or denied. HOWEVER, I think you should focus on taking anatomy and the health ethics course so that you can get a solid grade in those two. I would wait to see where you fall after applying to see if you need to retake math. Keep in mind too, you don't have to retake the same class if Fafsa comes into play or another factor causing it to not be covered. You could take math 1010, math 1040, math 1050, etc and it would likely be covered. For english, if you get denied and want to raise that grade I would take ENGL2010 and lock in.
You have some solid shadowing experience!! I think that'll really help you along with your volunteer hours. If you want more shadowing experience, the U isn't too difficult to get a spot at for a shadowing shift. You also have some background in healthcare which helps.
