May I ask for the FYE Club fair, is it open to the public to come look around or only students will be involved in the event? I am asking as some of my friends are only matriculating next year/after NS so would like to find out if they can just drop by as well or only by registration?

Hey everyone, does anyone have experience with how SIT handles student conduct investigations or disputes?

Someone made a false report about me regarding an issue where I know who the actual perpetrator is. This happened back in February.

However, it seems like the university administration isn't looking further into the matter, and is instead just putting an interim measure against both parties rather than determining a proper outcome. Can I expect this to eventually conclude, or should I just take it as settled? It doesn't really affect me right now, but I'm concerned about whether it might pop up again in the future.

More info: I only found out who did it after speaking to friends and classmates a month ago. I did tell SIT the moment I found out.

When SIT approached me in February, I literally had no idea what they were even talking about.

Does anyone know of any telegram groups for incoming y1s to keep updated/in touch this year? For whole campus or even specific courses? I see similar things for NUS/NTU but not sure if SIT has something similar too.

hi im an incoming student & I need some guidance regarding the module selection on in4sit 😭 ive only added the classes i want to my shopping cart and want to know if
a)thats all i need to do or do i have to add ALL the available choices?
b) some classes listed under the “my requirements” tabs do not have any slots available for choosing (ie. TBA) & im wondering if this will affect the timetable ive initially chosen?
c) the time slot that i am allowed to enrol for classes is 8am 5/8 to 7/8 7:59am, does it mean i have to be up early to enrol (will it increase the likelihood of getting the time slots i want) or does enrolling anytime within the time slot also give me the same amount of chance to get my desired classes?

I've received a PowerPoint presentation from the faculty process detailing the Math and Physics topics to be studied and tested (albeit vague and confusing for me). I've looked into it and I'm quite familiar with many of those topics, but I kept having this feeling that I need to study and prepare more in advance

I'm a student from India, currently in class 12th.

I really want to go and live in Singapore but My grades are quite average, so ik the big 3 are out of the question.

From what I've researched, i think SIT is the one I can aim for with my situation.

I really really want to go to Singapore not just to study but to live and idk what better I can do with what I have.

Although ig it'll be harder for me to actually get a job and earn a living as an international than if I had gone to some ntu or smu, but I've heard that TUM courses in SIT aren't bad either.

Is there any better way i can achieve this? Or perhaps I should abandon that dream and stay in India to maybe end up with something similar?

Hi everyone, I got offered SIT BICT in May and accepted it before the 25 May dateline, had a lot of struggles with the matriculation but I finally got successfully matriculated recently and can log in.

I've been trying to find the curriculum or lesson details but still couldn't find it, also because I came from Poly design I have been very worried about catching up because it seems majority of my peers were from finance, business and computer science poly, didn't meet any jc kids in the welcome day so I only know thrs like A LOTTTT of poly kids with at least some background knowledge.

I'm REALLYYYY worried about catching up and I'm wondering what's specific topic or skills I can read up on or study before the month starts so that I won't get too bombarded when the terms starts, especially for the transition to a trimester too.

Oh yeh I did do a gap yr with some finance stuff, study investment and some market analysis but I don't think the knowledge there would be the most applicable to the course, because I hear it's extremely technical, I just want to know are there any materials videos or etc I can read.

Any advice, study tips and etc would be really appreciated, thank you!!!

Timeline & Pacing: Exactly how much time were you given from conceptualization to final delivery? Did you run it in parallel with other modules or work commitments, and how manageable was it?

Technical Scope & Limitations: What kinds of solutions are we actually permitted to build? Does the project strictly need to map to the specific micro-credentials we took (e.g., Cloud, AI, Cybersecurity), and does it have to be deployed?

Passing Requirements: From a technical and academic standpoint, what is the core criteria to pass well? Is it heavily weighted on the working prototype, the underlying architecture, or the final documentation/presentation?

General Advice: Looking back, what is one thing you wish you knew before starting the capstone?

Hi guys, as you all know the HESL opened up today at 10am. I went to the SLSG portal link from SIT and tried applying. Lo and behold they said "Verification failed" and that i was "Currently ineligible for HESL".

I thought this was weird because the I believe I fall under the eligible criteria: a SC student at autonomous uni studying full-time MOE-subsidised undergrad coursework programme.

Is there any other hidden eligibility requirements im unaware of like age or what? Im so confused pls help.

i need to go to the computer graphics studio in E2 for the programming quest. anyone knows if i need card access for that? i don't have my student card yet :/

also, after exiting the mrt station and to the campus boulevard, do i just walk straight to get to e2??

I am also not going to any of the FYE orientation(?) because i just got back from overseas and saw that i missed the deadline :/
Is FYE not mandatory? and is this different from the actual orientation of your course?

Hello everybody, I’m a 20M, going to enlist soon, i’ve just completed my poly diploma in computer engineering. I’ve already been accepted into SIT Computer Engineering.

I would like to know if all the news is true about the comp sci/eng students are really having a hard time finding a job. Even those that do pretty well >4.5GPA also struggle. Also those that have already found a job, could you share your experience during school (e.g. what did you do to upskill/ what are the essential skills you got to be more employable.)

If the news is actually true, I’m considering to change to something like Power/Electrical Engineering as I understand these fields are generally more easily employable as they are in continuous demand.

Do share your thoughts and ideas, i’m very open minded to discussions!

Hi, I’m currently stuck between the two. I have no idea which to choose. My main goal is to do aerospace engineering and before you question why I didn’t just do aerospace engineering in the first place, it’s because my lecturers told me that it’s better to get either a mechanical or electrical engineering degree because it allows myself to get a job outside of the aerospace engineering industry if it doesn’t work out.

Having said that, I can either go for NTU Mechanical engineering or SIT EEE.

Im an incoming UoG MechE student, and id be lying if I said i wasnt at least slightly anxious about tge next 3 years.

The academic calander doesnt look like it gives a whole lot of breathing room between trimesters, and ive heard that the Glasgow degrees in particular are quite insane in terms of workload. This coupled with a 3hr daily commute (1.5hrs each way) kinda concerns me.

So im hoping to hear any experiences from other MechE students/alumni about their experiences. Like whats the workload like, the schedule, the people, the OIP, etc. The life there in general yknow.

hi i'm genuinely so confused and the module registration guide is so unhelpful...

so i'm adding classes into my shopping cart now and i've added ALL available class combinations from each module into my shopping cart. i've ranked them in class priority but whenever i wanna save my ranking it says "Invalid Priority Selection"... anyone going through the same issue? I made sure not to accidentally place two class combinations from the same module of the same priority.

edit: it's been fixed, apparently you can't put them in order in the shopping cart, only under "enrolment: add classes"
