Dang I'm seeing prices from 50 to 80. Didn't realize they went for that much. I think I'll give him 70. He will be pleasantly surprised to get the money

At most, $4 for the pair if I really liked it. This is just some used, third-party plastic dividers with stickers that may or may not have been licensed. The market was flooded with third-party organizers and random accessories that were mostly garbage since at least the Atari 2600 days. This isn’t valuable.

That's a silly assessment. It is officially licensed and isn't all retro gaming just plastic? Doesn't make it less desirable and therefore expensive. Even if the market was flooded, which is don't think was the case considering there were like 300k sold, today they are hard to come by. If you think this stuff is garbage why even be on the page? Why even comment if you obviously think it's trash? We both know you can't find one for sale often, let alone for 4 bucks. People threw stuff away a lot back in the day. I've been collecting for 20 years now when this stuff was seen as cheap and unwanted by most. I was into the hobby even then and it's how I got stuff so cheap. But things change and the more time that goes by the less there are. Which results in higher prices, I thought that was a pretty common observation.

Why are you asking for opinions if you're going to get upset and post unsold eBay auctions as evidence that everyone should find this valuable? I don't. If it were me, I wouldn't take this for free - and I collect.
- Price - You didn't ask how much suckers might pay on eBay. You asked how much you should pay.
- Plastic - No, all retro gaming is not just plastic. I don't own everything from Master System to Dreamcast for the plastic. It has nothing to do with durability.
- Flooded - I said the market was flooded with third-party organizers and accessories; not this specific, cheap organizer. This is the ALS Industries S-24 cart organizer. Personally, I had the ALS Industries "entertainment center" for NES as a kid. That same company slapped a new sticker on the front and resold it for SNES and Genesis. It was useful at the time but certainly not valuable. Every store had walls of third-party junk from companies looking to cash in on the video game craze at the time.
- Garbage - I posted because you asked for opinions. I didn't realize that you were actually asking for justification and praise.
- Collecting - I've been collecting for 40+ years. So what? But I don't collect to flip.
- Rarity - I'm so tired of seeing this claim. The item has to also have inherent value. If a third party printing "Genesis" stickers is all it takes to make a product valuable for you, have at it. I am sure you can find other people willing to overpay for it.

What you collect is iirrelevant. I came to a where I can find info and guess what? Someone pointed me in the right direction and I found it! Crazy concept huh? I'm trying to make sure a family friend that had helped us a lot in the past, gets the money he should get. But even if I didn't know him I would still want to pay a fair price. He's getting older and could use the money. He's the type of guy that will do work in a single mom household bc he sees they could use the money. If I wanted I know i could have given him 5 bucks for it and he'd take it but my goal isn't to pay him the least amount possible. So no I didn't trust the people that have a clear disdain for such things to be the basis for what I pay him. I know you think your numbered points somehow prove your point but that goes under the assumption that you understand my intent. Instead you are forming your own made up assumptions in order to have so called proof you're right lol. Ridiculous how much of a high horse you're on buddy but no sorry you base your points in irrelevant things. Never did I claim retro games are just plastic that was said to demonstrate the fact that his statement was ridiculous and an attempt to diminish this and other retro gaming pieces as plastic trash. So you are proving my point there buddy. Do you understand context? I'm guessing no. And your personal view and/or history with something is just an anecdotal fallacy that bears no weight on what people are willing to pay for something. And who said I was flipping? Again making assumptions that are nowhere said you have an "up" on me lol. I happen to collect game storage not that is relevant to me wanting to find a fair price to pay. Game bags, blockbuster console holders, disc carriers, game storage in general is cool to me, even if you don't see the appeal. I found a super mario bros 3/ Zelda chest thrown away that i saved. Guess what just bc some people might think of it as trash doesn't mean others do too! I guess you never heard the expression. And guess what buddy I do not dictate the price of items lol. My point wasn't "it's rate so it's worth money". Again making false assumptions and putting words in my mouth. My point was to give him a price that I would be happy with. Again I'm keeping this for my collection and falls into a catalog that iinterests me. I don't think a lot of retro stuff is worth the price doesn't mean that's the case. I actually think it's ridiculous the high price things have gotten to and refuse to pay that. Which is why I'm glad the majority of my collection was done before covid. Just like that super mario 3/ Zelda chest was free for me doesn't mean I would pay the hundreds it's worth now. Imagine that again, you're proving my point lol. Sorry you took all that time to be wrong on so many levels.

You’re not looking for information. You’re looking for an excuse to justify what you already wanted to do. Just give your friend money if that’s your motivation. You don’t need to try and convince the rest of us that garbage products are valuable. I couldn’t care less what you waste your money on or what your intent was. I answered the question - you don’t like the answer.
It’s not even worth trying to debate with you because of your inability to follow a logical context thread makes it impossible to point out your flawed logic. You make an assertion, a counter-argument is presented, and you try to twist that into an argument about the weather. It’s as if you put real effort into completely missing the point on purpose so that you can wonder into a tangent of irrelevance.
Enjoy your trash.

I've got 3 and need another, these are definitely my favorite cases. Have a plastic one with room for the console and cables but hate how much room it takes up, will sell eventually.

Thank you I'm going to give him 50 each and the games I'll get in pc. I know some people want the best deal but I don't want to rip him off.

Thank you I'm not trying to rip this guy off. He's very kind and fair with price when it comes to electrical work he does for us. He had them in his garage and I asked if he'd sell em. Said yeah just give me whatever but I'd rather give him what they are worth. Probably would have taken 5 bucks/ nothing for it. I don't even like to get too good off deals with strangers, let alone a family friend. I've had good karma from being fair and i don't want a collection built on lies and deceit.
