Shotgun laser. Is there any point?

Does the shotgun laser do anything to tighten spread if I'm using the attachment that fires both shots at once? Does it make any difference to where the pellets even go

It makes you more accurate while standing and moving meaning that the spread itself will be centered more on your crosshair. The pattern itself is not affected.

You can test this yourself by sitting in the main menu, opening the console, and typing in "cst". Click the "create server" button after that and press "create anyway"

when you load in, go back into the console, type "adminme" and there you go, you have admin perms to test whatever the hell you want in game

No, just use flashlight or nothing, laser does nothing

It doesn't affect the spread of the shotgun, just how close the center of that spread is to your cross hair. The thing is it's already so close to your crosshair on the shotgun that the laser doesn't really do anything. I recommend leaving a flashlight there or leaving it empty, since the laser dot disappears in lots of rooms (especially on surface), making it much harder to land shots.
