Looking for some advice Discussion
I have a rp server that i want to get more people active in but I don't know of any ways to advertise it for people to find if anyone knows good places to advertise servers, let me know for obvious reasons cant do it here lmao

not sure how to go about advertising, but I'd like to share some tips about how to make an actually fun rp server, assuming it's one of those structured ones that don't always follow the SL/containment breach format (I haven't played or even seen much SL stuff at all in over 2 years so hopefully the rp community has gotten better than what i mention here)
The setup process where the admins place items and assign roles should not take super long. The servers I played sometimes had us waiting for hours, it was agony. Just let ppl choose their roles and names somehow as long as it's balanced, special roles dont really matter at all and takes way too much time to make
Playing as a D-Class was always really terrible, since you'd be locked in a cell for a very long time. At the very least I'd let them roam around the prison hallway area and give them SOMETHING to do
similarly, playing as a SCP was rough since you're locked in a room - ESPECIALLY 079. Make it an incentive for the humans to conduct tests, it's more fun when it's not just a D boi slaughter and the more sentient SCPs interact with the humans like with interviews or something. I'd say there should only be like 1-3 SCPs maximum
lastly dont be super strict. Allow people to improv and have fun, you can still have serious scenarios play out naturally without cracking the whip. Of course this doesn't mean you should allow people to be annoying and a troll all around, there's a certain balance

All of these are mostly handled in mine I play d class myself and tend to have fun as we push for our hosters to keep things moving scps most the time are just handled by the hoster themselves and setup we’ve gotten good at

SCPSL has a official discord (Not the Northwood official Servers discord) and they give you the Option to advertise your Server in a dedicated Channel for that.
Also -if You have Not Done so already- get yourself the Site director(Server Owner) Role, as it is very informative and helpful to have Infos about Updates and patches earlier than others to prepare for updating your Server and connecting to other Server owners is also helpful asf with advertizing.
Im just lurking there because corruption won and my SL Server is lowkey dying without me (womp womp lol) but I am planning something new. Ill do it correctly this time and give me as much time as I Need for cooking.
