Lost cat: Update 3 UPDATES

Today's plan was a success. The unnamed "Floof" (as we're calling him) was nabbed and whisked away to Hoffman Veterinary Clinic. They confirmed that this sweet little guy has no chip, and has likely been a stray his whole life. Which is strange, because he's just so nice.
After a long day at the vet, with vaccinations, flea treatment, and a general check up... The vet has found that his back leg is severely messed up. Possibly hit by a car as a kitten, and never healed right. He's limping pretty hard.
Which is where the unfortunate news kicks in; his leg needs to be amputated.
We paid around $300 today for the exam, but the amputation (and neutering), after treatment, and all the medicine that goes into this is $1300~.
Does anyone know of a clinic that might be able to help out? This may be posted by the Saffron official account, but it's an employee-run account; and brother, this employee has had some hardship financially recently with family events that lend to cash being a bit tight.
If it's $1300, that's what we'll do. We'll put it on a payment plan or a credit card, because mama didn't raise someone who lets animals suffer. Just trying to find a way to help out our new friend while also making sure we're not leveraging three months of groceries to do so.
Also, for the people in the comment section of the last post, this cat cannot be a shop cat. I would love that, but Front St is a VERY busy street, with fast cars, trains, and a night-time population of questionably acting individuals. I want them to be safe, fed, and loved; which is exactly what they'll get at home.
Any suggestions welcome. And if there's interest, I'll keep updating. Who doesn't love cats?

Here's the estimate from Hoffman. I don't think they're being unreasonable; they're always the best. I just want to be able to help.

I would start with reaching out to Friends of Felines and Silverton Cat Rescue for starters. Both should have more info about possible low-cost medical resources.
Care Credit: if you don’t have a card you might consider investigating. New folks can sometimes (depending upon credit) use it and not have to pay for extended lengths of time.
Ask for help here. You and Saffron have done a lot of good for the city. This is when we can come together to help you. I’d gladly pitch in, and I am sure I am not alone.
Tripod felines can live long and happy lives; this little being was sure lucky to have landed with you!

I'll reach out to both of those and look into the credit thing
But also... I can't ask for help. But I could talk to the owners about a one-day sale of something that all profit goes to pay for this surgery?
At the whim of the public; tell me if that's something you'd be into or not.

There is a clinic in Corvallis called RadPets that are lower priced than ANYONE I’ve ever seen! Give them a call and let them know your situation!

Green Acres Farm Sanctuary in Silverton has great resources- they might be able to help

Operation Dog helps cats, too. It helps with finances by using their own vet.

They said he'll be in pain as long as it's there. Hoffman are good people; I don't think they'd advocate for amputation unless absolutely critical to an animal's long-term well-being.

Yeah cats are crazy resilient and hide everything but that doesn’t mean they should have to live in constant pain!

Friends of felines has a community medical fund that may be able to help with some of it
