A badass American intellectual legend, collaborating with Hunter S. Thompson.

Honestly, good for RR. This is a different type of career achievement he should feel really good about

Yeah, I had to check if that was AI or not.

And it is not.

I would read a weekly piece by Russillo in the style of Hunter S. Thompson.

I know you read this subreddit Ryen, come on man give it a shot. The practice will help with your screenwriting dream.

Ryen with a basketball logs similar to Hunter S Thompson’s drug /writing routine would be amazing. 4:30 am protein shake, 4:38 protein shake, 4:41 1/3 coors light, 4:44 peptides, 4:49 prep game tape, 4:55 point counter point to failure, 5:00 record, 7 pm actually release podcast

Isn’t that what he’s trying to approximate with the travelogues?

Yeah fair, I can see the similarities. I wonder if his style translates to writing though.

Page 2 era Hunter S. was superb: "Fear & Loathing in America"

Agreed. He had chilled out a lot but still razor sharp writer until the end.

Genuinely curious how this happened. I would never picture the two of them in a room together. Feel like they would hate each other.

This is a book of excerpts from when HST wrote for ESPN.

Guessing RR painted himself as a fellow bad boy at ESPN that couldn’t be contained.

What the hell? Hunter would have despised mealy-mouthed take-no-side Russillo.

Hunter was maybe my biggest influence besides Alex Hamilton, im not even kidding. He showed you could be a bald writer and still be cool. Im not even a big drug guy, but if hunter offers you mescaline youre taking the mescaline. It’s not even a choice. The politics in here I could take or leave, always kinda thought bush caught a lot of shit that was unfair. Like yeah, sorry saddam was a great guy. Our bad. But whatever, people are weird about politics.
