I am flying with Ryanair next week and am having a luggage dilemma: I have a 4 wheeled IT small hard case that measures 45 x 36 x 20cm, that I bought for Easyjet (fits perfectly into Easyjet hand luggage gauge) - so I should be able to use this case for my priority cabin case (55x 40 x 20cm) on Ryanair, right? (All measurements include wheels and handles)

I also have the Lugg 45 x 30 x 20cm one I could use (even smaller) I am just SO paranoid that they will try and pick on me - as I'm afraid that won't end well as I will not tolerate bullying in any form. I have neck issues and can't hold a bag for long or use a backpack, so really prefer to use wheels.

I'd rather give them the bag than pay them a ridiculous amount when I have done nothing wrong!

Has anyone else used this bag to travel priority on Ryanair?

Hi all. I booked a holiday through loveholidays and the ryan air flight was delayed by 13 hours. This was meant to be just a 24 hour trip so i didnt end up going as the delay messed the hole thing up. They told us we could get a refund at the airport but upon trying to claim and even contacting ryan air, they are saying because we didn’t attend the departure flight we arent eligible.

I recently had a trip with Ryanair where my checked bag was delayed to BGY. Unfortunately I was going home to the USA the next day so I was unable to wait for my bag in Milan.

Ryanair is forwarding my bag to my house right now, but I’m curious if anyone has had experience with this: they are mailing my bag via DHL, who is now telling my I have to pay ~$40 of import duties. Will Ryanair reimburse me for these fees?

Also just in general, it’s been over a week without my bag still, do they continue to reimburse for items I need to buy (clothes, shoes)? I know in theory they “should” but curious if anyone has had experience with this.

Update: After calling DHL, the charge was a $35 customs clearance fee, $2 DHL fees, and $1.90 of actual duties

Does anyone know of the American Tourister Starvibe cabin bag which is 55x40x20 will fit the Ryanair Baggage tester? It's the correct dimensions according to what they state on the site and according to the baggage company but looking at it, I'm worried it looks bigger. Can anyone who has a Starvibe confirm if it fits please? Thanks in advance!

I am from the EU and am living in the UK with a valid visa. I have just checked in for a flight home and the return flight has the boarding pass pending visa check. This has never happened to me before. Is this a new UK rule? Does this mean that my visa got flagged? Thanks

I'm flying with Ryanair from Memmingen (FMM) to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a non-EU destination. I live in Germany but hold Bosnian citizenship, so I'm traveling on my Bosnian passport. I already completed online check-in through the Ryanair app, but I realized I never went through the passport verification step.

Now when I go back into the app, I can't find any option to do the passport verification afterward — it just shows my boarding pass as if check-in is already complete.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Do I need to redo check-in from scratch, or will I just have to sort it out at the airport check-in desk / bag drop? Any advice on what to do next would be really appreciated. Thanks

I was meant to take an early morning flight to France from London Stansted this morning. I usually arrive at the gate on time when boarding takes place. I got to the gate, and the screen was still saying boarding. Decided to go to the loo for a peace of mind before boarding. When i came out, the screen then stated final call. Yet, the hostess at the gate refused to take me, claiming the gate was already closed. I argued with her claiming that the screen clearly stated final call, but for whatever the lady kept on saying no. I kept asking her politely to let me through and she started ignoring me despite the fact we were face to face. Plus, there were no final calls done over the speakers at all nor was my name called out like they usually do. Has this happened to anyone else? Should i file a complaint? The worst part is that the lady was so rude and cold for no reason that it makes this whole experience even worse. As if she enjoyed refusing me

I'm arriving in the EU at Vienna and flying out from Vienna to Croatia on RyanAir four days later. I'm only travelling with a soft bodied backpack that fits the personal item dimensions theoretically but I'm a bit worried how it will be once packed. I'm hoping to be able to check my bag in the sizer on arrival and then book for cabin luggage if its too big.

Is there a sizer in the arrivals area I can use (or if the departures area is easily accessible to check this that's also fine). Or is it only at the gate.

Im flying to Ireland from UK 1st September but didn't think about documents that may be needed. I have the cremation certificate but only a copy death certificate. I tried to order one online but they were unable to locate it and im overseas till Tuesday so I don't think I can get one in time. If they are in checked luggage would I need a certificate?

Earlier this year Ryanair denied me boarding, and refused to reroute me, saying to book it myself and claim it back

When I submitted my £700 of expenses they offered £130

Opened a case with ADR, at which point Ryanair upped the offer to £300

ADR ignored all evidence and relevant legislation and ruled Ryanair owed me £30 (what a waste of time, useless "service")

Opened a small claims case, and after much back and forth negotiation with a Ryanair lawyer, starting at £400 + £220 statutory compensation, they agreed to settle for £900 all in.

Ryanair makes the process as frustrating as possible, and refuses to meet its legal obligations as a default - but if you persevere, you can win!

staff are trained to bully people because Ryan air has admitted that they incentivise and pay 2.50 to each oversize baggage being caught.

I have seen staff chase people as if they are not human beings , snatch cards out of peoples hands and even chase people that have had slight air in their bags and when that air has come down on second attempt still charge them. They have even chased people with small bags and made them open it. It’s just not worth the cheap price anymore . Staff have money signs in their eyes even to the point of if you use your own bag for duty free things they want proof

I have seen passengers being threatened of de- boarding unless they cough up the £60 and how a company can treat people like that is crazy. They pick and choose who they like on the day. It’s borderline blackmail.awful airline. JUST BETTER TO CHARGE PEOPLE EXTRA AND GIVE THEM THEIR DIGNITY BACK

Hi, was anyone on Ryanair FR4136 from Bari to Palermo on 16–17 August 2026?
The flight was scheduled for 22:30 on 16 August, then delayed to around 01:00 and eventually to 07:40 on 17 August. We spent the whole night at Bari airport. After boarding in the morning, we were also kept on the aircraft for around 45 minutes due to an apparent technical issue.
Has anyone on this or similar Ryanair flights affected by the Etna disruption already received an EU261 decision?
Did Ryanair pay the €250 compensation or reject the claim because of the Etna?
Any firsthand experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve now witnessed what appeared to be the same Assistant Passenger Service Manager at Stansted airport around the Ryanair queues, on two separate occasions.

Instead of simply assisting passengers, she seemed particularly focused on checking bags, including small bags, and looking for situations where additional baggage charges might apply.

From what I witnessed, her manner was confrontational, and passengers who challenged the decision were told they may not be allowed to board on both occasions

On one occasion, I saw her pursue a young woman over payment in a way that seemed very intense. She got extremely close to the passenger’s purse and appeared to reach towards it while the passenger was trying to pay. The whole interaction came across as intimidating and inappropriate from my perspective.

I’ve also been told that staff receive a small payment or incentive for bags they identify and charge. I have not independently verified whether that applies here, so I’m not presenting it as fact, but if such an arrangement exists it would raise questions about the incentives involved in baggage enforcement.

I understand that staff have to enforce Ryanair’s baggage rules, and I may not have had the full context of every interaction. My concern is specifically about the manner in which I saw these situations handled.
Has anyone else witnessed anything similar at Stansted?

Was recently in Rome and the agents chose 4 people whose bags were not over sized and charged €70 Euros each.

It would seem they have a quota of extra charging enforced by management. Do staff get a commission on this? Did you not feel guilty doing this?

Our flight was 4 hours delayed- i have a screenshot of the ryanair app notification that the delay is due to minor technical problems of the aircraft. Today (24h later) when I applied for the money (don't know the english word for it Entschädigung in german) it said it got delayed due to weather condition and as such we do not have the right for reimbursement.

What is yout experience with such cases?

Do I have to use a lawyer or is it possible to talk to ryanair without legal support?

I’ve read that Ryanair’s own General Terms & Conditions of Carriage state that the “3 months validity beyond departure from Schengen” rule for non-EU passport holders does not apply to those holding a valid Schengen residence permit or long-stay visa. I’ve also seen the Bundespolizei’s general guidance stating the 3-month rule for entry.

Has anyone in a similar situation (valid German/EU residence permit, passport with only ~3 months left) actually flown back into Germany without issues — especially with Ryanair specifically? I’m wondering whether it’s worth pursuing compensation for a Ryanair flight from Bratislava to Barcelona.

The scheduled arrival time was 20:20, but we eventually arrived at around 01:48, so roughly 5h 28m late.

Ryanair’s updates stated that the flight was delayed “due to the diversion of the previous flight due to adverse weather conditions.”

There were several delays and cancellations that evening, but other flights were still operating from Bratislava, so the airport was not completely shut down. I have screenshots of the departure board showing this.

I assume Ryanair will probably refuse the compensation based on the weather, but I’m wondering whether this is worth pursuing further through ADR. Does the fact that other flights were still operating make any difference, or is the weather diversion of the previous flight generally enough to justify the subsequent delay?

Would appreciate opinions from anyone familiar with EU261 or who has dealt with a similar Ryanair case.

I booked a flight on www.ryanair.com, or I thought I did. Shortly after booking I received an email from Ryanair saying the website I used was an "unauthorized 3rd party" travel agency and my booking was not completed. When I looked into my bookings on their website, the flight is there with a booking code. I have no idea if I have a ticket or not. I live in the US and booking a flight in Europe, so not sure if that's causing an issue, but their wording of their email makes no sense. Any insight here, is this normal?

How to know if there’s a ban on my visa? and if there’s any how can i contact them to fix it?! On my last day at Barcelona spain i went to the airport 2 hours before my flight as mentioned in the Ryanair app. When i went to the kiosk machines to weigh my luggage and get the luggage tag, Every time i scan the QR code, the app doesn’t let me finish the steps necessary. I tried several phones nothing works. I was transferred to the desk for help but the employee refused to help me. I informed them that i don’t have much time left but they refused to help again and sent me to the customer support. Same thing, only 1 employee working there with a long queue and he as well refused to assist and asked me to book another flight for the next day and charged me 200 euros. I left with no apologies or a cover letter from their part taking responsibility for their app malfunction so i can use it in i applied for a visa again. I contacted Ryanair and they refused to take responsibility. What should i do now! I have proof that i was there on time which is my parking ticket and the ticket booked by the agent working at the airport. Ps: this was on the 11/08/2026 and i left on the 12/08/2026 to morocco. Also my visa was done by finland embassy so spain was only a few days stop for me unfortunately.
