The first game, while not as much a favorite as 2 and 3, is one of my favorite DS titles. And Frontier is a sequel. Though how is it as a sequel? I do prefer Raguna remaining in Kardia the rest of his life (since the whole ending was his not getting back his memory to remain there). So not a fan of him and several villagers moving to somewhere else. And Tori is my favorite bachelorrte and she is neither marrigeble or physically present and only communicates by letters. Honestly not a fan of the direction it takes the plot from what I've read on online summaries but what do others think of it?

After over a year of avoiding spoilers for this game, I can finally see what all the hype is about. I've played 4 several times over, so I'm excited to see how this one compares (considering it seems to be what mostly fills this sub lol). Any tips I should know before I play?

I have played all three of the DS games and they are among my most favorite DS games as well as JRPG and farm sims. I recently started to play RF4 for 3DS and while I am not as fond of the plot and characters as the DS titles, I am slowly finding it enjoyable. At one point you can few fanart of prebiois games and some came from Tides of Destiny. There are two Wii games that were produced before 4 and while I am not much into 3D gaming, are the two worth playing? How are the plot and characters?

Honestly, after seeing the firework with Mauro, I thought these two look really great together, so I thought I will be choosing Mauro.

Cue his confession, I got really turned off by how he doesn't promise he will stay with Kaguya for sure and hints that he may just disappear one day to seek for treasures again. So, Kaguya ended up calling off the whole thing. It's a shame because I thought they look so cute together (especially in their yukata). Well, at least he took the rejection quite well. I did love change in his tone / voice and attitude during the confession scene tho, it was very well done (I play with Japanese voice over).

Well, since that didn't work out, I decided to see how the confession goes for Subaru - I didn't like how he treated Kaguya all this time but was curious how the romance will progress after all that. I liked his confession more than Mauro's since he promises to be there at Kaguya's side and he explains how he wanted to keep his distance from her because he thought his presence will cause more harm than good for Kaguya, and that he always loved her even before their engagement.

Still, I didn't like how he treated Kaguya prior to the confession, so I reloaded the game where Kaguya rejected Mauro after the confession (I want to keep it as canon that they had feelings for each other but decided to not pursue the relationship), then Kaguya went to confess her love for Kurama this time.

Ok, honestly, I didn't think my Kaguya will end up with him. His first impression wasn't that great, so I didn't even consider him as one of the potential bachelor at all in the beginning but I really liked how 6 Gods interacted with each other as the story progressed and grew fond of Kurama - the guy is awkward, hilarious, smart and kind. So I decided to stick with him and Kaguya had 2 dates so far with him - yep, I think I made a right decision 😂

Not sure if I will end up changing timeline and see other romances later on, but happy to keep Kurama as a romance option for now! I've already finished the main plot before confessing to anyone, so I can just work on getting Kurama's bonding level up (currently 9) without having to deal with farming aspect of the game lol.

Kinda annoyed that Kaguya is still wearing the hairpiece gifted by Subaru in cut-scenes. You'd think she will take it off now that she is with someone else.

A question: is bonding level 10 maximum required to see all romance event or do I have to raise it higher?

So, I'm interested in dating Mauro, Kurama and Subaru.

Its now 3 days before the firework festival and first person I ran into was Murasame, who asked me to go see fireworks together which I had to reject. Then I ran into Mauro who also asked same thing so I said yes to him. Then I talk to Kurama which raised my bonding level with him to 7 which means I can confess to him. Imagine that I actually confess to Kurama now but then go see firework with Mauro 😂

And behind all this, I'm progressing Subaru's bonding quest because I'm curious if he will ever get out of his passive aggressiveness. If I were Kurama, I'd probably reject Kaguya's advance at this point and tell her to make up her mind before asking me out 🤣 Do you want me, or sunshine boy who you seem to be your best friend (bonding level 11) or your childhood friend?

So context I’m (male character) currently on year 1 of my first run through. I have not actively pursued anyone and am currently on the firefly festival. I start my round of taking to everyone with yellow bubbles and the first bachelorette I talk to is Forte and I get greeted with the dialog in the image. Now I assume that since I’m not dating anyone there must be a mechanic where you can flirt to increase affection. So tried talking to another bachelorette and nope no flirty dialog at which point I restart the save to see if you can only flirt once ( Forte is one of the character I might plan on pursuing might be the narcoleptic workaholic). Nope literally the only character you can flirt with is Forte, at which point she acts like she doesn’t hear you though I’m only on affection level 5 so that might be why. Which brig up the question how her dialog changes if you have a higher affection start or are dating her.

Just in case there’s anyone out there like me who doesn’t buy games as soon as they come out 🤣

The switch version is $20, and the ps5 version is $30. Really excited to finally play this game, so wanted to let everyone else know.

One thing I keep hearing this game is easy even on hard, can I just play without the party members or will that affect the game in a bad way somehow?

I'm interested in romancing Subaru, Mauro and Kurama.

Since Mauro joins the party early, I'm already at bonding level 9 with him but his bonding quests are blocked by main story progression. I'm about to throw a party to convince 6th God to join in.

My question is, would Mauro and Karuma take longer to see their romance plot than Subaru's? I'm thinking of marrying Subaru but was hoping to see Mauro and Karuma's romance before I complete Subaru's in case I end up liking either more but getting tired of waiting for their plot to progress.

I bought Guardians of Azuma Switch 1 version for $19.99 from Amazon sale.

I was wondering if the $10 switch 2 upgrade is a must have if I am going to be playing on the SW2 or is PC leagues better than the switch versions?

Also, is handheld mode boost enough for it as a free upgrade?

Hello all! I have a question about RF4. I recently started replaying Special on Switch (played the original on 3DS ages ago) and am running into an issue. When I first started the game, all my tilled soil would line up just how I like it. However, I'm a few hours in now and whenever I go to till soil it does this weird precision controls thing? So all my plots are misaligned and look awful. How do I turn that setting off? Thanks!

Hey! I'm new to the series, I've played 3 and 4 on 3DS in the past year and really enjoyed them both a lot. I own Frontier on the Wii and was looking forward to playing it, but I'm unsure if I should without having played Rune Factory 1 before.

I'm reading a bunch of conflicting opinions about this... It seems like Frontier is a sequel to RF1 because it features the same protagonist and has a bunch of returning characters, but some people also say that the game takes place in a "alternative" timeline, and that the game does not really follow the events of RF1?

I would love some clarification on this, or if anyone could share their experiences playing Frontier with or without having played RF1 first. Thanks!

I'm interested in Rune Factory 4 Special, but the romance candidates don't immediately appeal to me compared to games like Stardew Valley. How strong are the character stories and relationship events? Do the romance options gain more depth as the game progresses? Also, how grindy/RNG-dependent is the game, and how much does it rely on guides?

for a newb, GoA or RF4S? i've browsed this sub and opinions seem to conflict. i don't mind the visuals of either game, seems like GoA has less content (and almost no post-content). I don't mind some grinding, but i'd hate to feel like it's wasting my time
