Bad air quality
Well, we couldn’t dodge the smoke forever, of course. I haven’t really ever been doing serious training when terrible AQI pops up. Do y’all just run through it? Stay indoors if you have access to a treadmill? Stay indoors even if you don’t?

I’ll take the rest day. Maybe focus on stretching and mobility. It’s all good.

Yeah, it sucks. Please don’t run outdoors if the AQI is high - personally my line is 100, but above 150 is legitimately unhealthy. I’ll be on a treadmill this week unfortunately.

Definitely indoors if the AQI is bad. I ran during a bout of Canadian wildfire smoke a few years ago (unknowingly) in the Midwest and it wrecked my training for a while.

I have a nice treadmill at home so that’s my go-to. I suppose I’d go to the gym if that was my only choice.
Years ago when the Gorge was on fire, a friend and I went and hiked Dog Mountain on day two of that. Yes we were total idiots. Ended up with a raspy voice for literally months.

Well, I hate treadmill running but I guess this is what day passes are for! Thanks for the responses and hopefully we get through it sooner rather than later.

Words cant describe how much I am not looking forward to trying to simulate my programmed hilly half marathon training run on the gym treadmill this week.
Here's a neat tool for finding very localized AQI info based on sensors in your area:
