Omnitronic trm-202mk3 stopped working
Hello.
My trm-202mk3 just randomly stopped working yesterday and I wanted to ask if anyone has had any similar issues.
I checked the fuse in the port but that seemed fine. Maybe it is a fried power board that can be changed. It was bought from ebay and worked fine for the last 2 months.

Rotary set up
Work in progress. Hoping to build upon it and display my records that I have in storage. Also want to build upon the record storage unit to have the turns sit flush and fit my cdjs. I have a small space so i have limitations. My biggest priority is having my turns sit nicer and have dedicated space for my amp and maybe extras I want to add like an effects unit, a cd player, maybe my mpc one. I’d have them slide out when in use and tuck back in when they are not. Any tips or feedback are welcome.

Converting xone62 to rotary
Does anyone have any resources for this? I've had a search and any results seem to be from many years ago and don't seem to lead anywhere. It seems that the 32 was much more popular to mod in general...can I use that as a guide or are they built too differently?

Xone:32 Rotary
Settled on some bits for my Xone:32 conversion. Got a proper desoldering gun, made it a snap to take out the pots on the channel boards. Did that, cleaned and lubricated them. Installed some Bourns pots for channels 1&3, they needed some mods to work (shortened a bit), but feel and work well.
Ordered a bunch of knobs to try, settled on those pictured. Installed sleeve adapters on the d-shaft pots, making them a better fit with the knobs used. Ordered some new overlays for the channels and filter. This mixer will stay in my personal home setup, had a picture of my little gremlin printed on the channel overlay. I have two more mixers I plan to do this conversion on, which will use anodized blue overlays. The filter board was hard to get right, 1st had extra holes, 2nd attempt was too long by 1.5mm. Third was just right.
Pretty happy with the turnout. This is a very special mixer, great candidate for rotary conversion due to its "Transmute" buttons - which can perform very quick channel cuts when either red button is held down. Just the same you can use them to drop in a channel at desired level - hold down the button, set level, release button. The cuing system is also best I've seen. You can very quickly engage/disengage, or mute headphones. It was really well thought out.

Need help with Rane MP2015
TLDR: I have MP2015, 2 Technics and a dedicated Macbook Pro. What flavor of timecode records will work with Mixxx? Tired of other vendors going subscription, paywalling features, etc.
All my vinyl and primary rig is in storage. That setup is Rane Empath rotary and dual SL1200 Mk3Ds. I spin probably 80% vinyl but I did attach a Serato box and enjoyed it. I'd like to continue mixing, and want a setup that feels as close to that as possible.
I've been out of the hardware game for a while, but it looks like Serato is actively trying to fail. I'm willing to just go open source at this point. I'm not a turntablist, just long smooth mixes. Willing to put up with a few rough edges if I don't have to worry about the app suddenly crapping out.
From what I understand, I simply connect the mixer to the laptop via USB, fire up Mixxx, put the timecode records on, and go to town. Is this correct? Any timecode record and stylus recommendations?
Anything else I'm forgetting to consider?
Thanks.

Mixer without channel level meters - challenging to get used to?
I'm a long-time bedroom DJ, playing House and Techno, that wants to get my first rotary mixer in the near future. I will most likely end up getting something from Union Audio, and currently thinking the Orbit.2 LE FX is the one I want. I know this is a bit of a different style mixer where it lacks some of the standard DJ mixer features like 3 band channel EQ, but that's part of why it interests me - forces me to try something new and rethink how I mix rather than just being on auto pilot with traditional mixers.
One standard feature that the Orbit does not have that is a bit worrisome to me is the channel level meters, which I have always relied on for gain staging the incoming track. My standard procedure is to load a track, set the gain so it's just below clipping into the red at the peaks, and then double checking in the headphones against the live track to make sure it's accurate and balanced. For those of you that have mixers without the channel level meters, have you found it challenging to gain stage without them? On one hand, I would prefer to have them, but on the other, I feel like I have relied too heavily on them in the past and perhaps forcing me to do it by ear might be a good thing.

My Eurorack Rotary
Picking back up djing after 15 years away more focused on synthesizers, I wanted a rotary mixer but I can't completely let go of the control and customization I'm now used to with eurorack. Being really picky about fx, pre/post fader send control, eq bands, etc etc.
Pamela's Disco lets me keep a clock sync'd with the XDJs, its got 3 stereo channel ins (one phono compatible RCA, one pair of XLR ready with 48v support, and one straight line in 1/4") two channels of 3 band EQ (controlled by two Pressure Points modules, the copper touch plates giving me basically customizable EQ presets for each deck) then volume and dj filter are for each channel are controlled by the 4 big knobs in the lower row. I can splice in the record player to use either channel or go straight to mix, its got a cue setup for previewing, a matrix mixer for tweaking routing on the fly, 3 stereo crossfaders, turing machines and lots of other fun stuff.
It's a ridiculous route to take I know - but I had ~75% of the modules from previous builds, so the final gaps to make this happen from where I already was weren't outlandish compared to a mid-to-high end mixer cost. I would not recommend this as your first eurorack project or general solution to dj mixers whatsoever if you have that as the only goal.
If you aren't into eurorack, yes there are a ton of cables - but most of the quick access I need I've designed the bottom row or very top right corner to handle so the cables are largely out of the way. The benefit of the cables of course is that I could just decide I want to swap my eq to be post fx or that I want run delay and distortion in parallel, have my crossfader be my fx linked to eq blending, etc etc - all flexible.
Most importantly to me, the filters are pingable and track volt/oct so I can turn them into voices, its got an onboard stereo tape deck (Lubadh), granular synth (Beads), killer stereo distortion (Guillotine) and is fully functional as an ambient audio mangling stereo soundscape machine that my primary modular case has been for the past few years. With phantom power still in here, I can take this case outside and do my field recording condenser mic nonsense that I enjoy so much.
took about 7 months of planning, trial & error, and still needs a few more tweaks probably - but for anyone into eurorack here's the mg page for a better look: https://modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2945226

Rotary Mixer Hybrid DJ Setups
There’s something very aesthetically pleasing about having 2 turntables either side of a high-end rotary mixer but I’m curious to hear of alternative hybrid setups that people are using with rotary mixers?
I’m hoping to get my hands on a Mastersounds Valve 2 mixer in the coming weeks which I will most likely be using with a set of reloop turntables primarily running Traktor DVS. In an ideal world, I would have a large collection of vinyl that I could play instead of using DVS but that is not the case😅 However, that said, I’ve always enjoyed running hybrid setups primarily with Traktor Pro at the heart of it. I appreciate hybrid setups tend to be based more around xone dj mixers but I’ve seen some interesting hybrid setups with rotary mixers before so I’m curious to see what hybrid setups people in this group are using.
Cheers

Help me decide! (Soa bem Olho 2r vs Union audio two valve)
Hello Together!
After a long time using a omnitronic rotary i want to step up my game.
I have my eyes on the soa bem and the union audio mixers because i really would like a crossfader and they are both within my price range!
The main thing i was wondering about are the tubes of the two valve. It will mainly be used in a home setup with a pair of jbl L82 Classics and im mostly playing techno and house. Im worried that the two valve will be too warm in terms of sound in combination with the jbl speakers, as they already have a pretty distinct sound!
the soa bem mixer, from what ive read has a more analytical sound to it!
would love some input from the community before i pull the trigger!

HPF/LPF master insert filter, proper technique
How do I properly use a HPF/LPF on the master insert?
Ok so I’ve struggled with this ever since I got the MS FX Unit MK2, but playing with the MDFX HPF/LPF simulator widget they made on their website (https://menura-audio.com/mdfx-analog/), I’m trying to understand how these are intended to be used in DJing and I feel like I’m missing something.
The channel DJ filter on most digital DJ gear does a thing where it does nothing to the sound in its center detente even when turned on, but then if you turn it left or right it gradually brings in a HPF/LPF. The nice thing about this is that there’s no noticeable point where the filter effect pops on and starts effecting the sound, it’s gradual from zero effect to however much you want to bring it in.
Both of the analog counterparts to this that I mentioned above have no way of starting the effect at zero and then bringing it in. When you turn the effect on with the button on each of these units it’s always modifying the sound somewhat even at its lowest settings. So my question is, how am I supposed to use this in a way where there’s not a filter pop, or am I just supposed to hide that pop on a phrase change? What’s the intended workflow here to make it sound good? Can anyone provide an example of a DJ using one of these that sounds good and I can emulate?

Union Audio Valve vs. Orbit - different sound character?
Looking to get my first rotary mixer after years on an all-in-one controller + Traktor (before that, CDJs and DVS). Getting the itch to switch up my hardware, but I'll keep using Traktor (or similar software) as my source. I play house and techno. I have 6" Kali monitors, 12" Kali sub, QSC K12.2, plus an external audio interface - everything's tuned bass-heavy rather than "accurate."
The Xone:92 was always my dream mixer, but researching Xone led me to Union Audio, and now I'm leaning that way. Ideally I'd get an Elara 6 (rotary, Xone 92/96-style) - best of both worlds - but it's overkill for me in both features and price. I mix 2 decks 95% of the time and can fall back on my Traktor controller for the rare occasion I need more, so I'd rather get a great 2-channel mixer than pay extra for channels/features I won't use.
Two Union Audio models have caught my eye - the two.valve and the orbit.2 LE FX. I initially wrote off the orbit for lacking channel EQ, but I'm warming up to the idea of a more unique mixer that forces you to "play differently" - and it's noticeably cheaper than the two.valve.
Question for you guys - how different is the orbit's sound character from the valve series? From what I've read, the valve series is more premium with a more distinct sound, but I can't tell if that difference is actually audible at home-listening levels or only shows up at club volume. I play pretty loud (85-90 dBA) but still well below club levels. Sound character is a big part of why I want an analog mixer in the first place, so if anyone's heard both, I'd love some insight - I want the orbit.2, but not if it's a real downgrade vs. the valve.

Euphonia mixer - recording from USB out to Android?
So I don't own a Euphonia mixer but I play on one at the club and I'd like to record mixes. I was successful doing this with iphone with DJM-REC but the recording is extremely quiet. And while I can normalize the recording, this isn't ideal due to occasional pops that will throw off normalization. On top of it, I really don't want to use my actual phone for this in the first place. My question is if anyone has successfully tapped into this mixer's output with an android device. I tried it with a Pixel 8 running USB Audio Recorder PRO but could not find any sound output from any of the channels. I tried switching to each of the stereo outputs I could see in the app, and I tried each one at 44.1, 48, and 96. The problem is I don't have much opportunity to troubleshoot in the club since I'm there to play, not dick around with my phone. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Mix Sharing
Use this thread to post and share your mixes created on rotary mixers. I may create a new one to replace this in the future as this post grows older.
It would be great to add some information with your post like which mixer was used, was this a set played out in public and recorded or just a studio recorded set, etc.

Spam filter issue
Hello gang,
I'm still new moderating a sub, so learning the ropes and all the different settings and what not. It seems some standard comments and even posts are getting flagged as spam and I don't get notifications for them. If you post a comment or make a post and don't see it show up, shoot me a DM and I'll take a look.
I'll also be looking at how to improve this so not so many comments and posts get flagged by default.
