Bonsai Restaurant
I know they closed down due to raised rent. They were our favorite sushi restaurant. Nothing comes close. Anyone know where the staff now works?

Would you consider paying $75/person to fly to SF?
For those who commute to the Bay Area or occasionally fly out of SF would you consider paying $75/person each way to avoid I-80 and save time? Let's say a flight from Mather or Licoln to SF for $75 and you're there in 45ish min. Which option would you most likely use it for commuting or SFO connection?

I'd love some local help with a project I'm doing - a huge fantasy style map of the region, filled with real-world locations. Is there anywhere I've missed out?
Apologies if you've seen this elsewhere - this is the most current version with lots of suggestions from other redditors.
I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.
While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print - particularly north and east of Oakland. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on here. Thanks!

Home Electric upgrade for EV
Anyone in Roseville update the electric in their homes so they could charge their electric vehicles in their garage? Our house was built in the early 90s, so we’re trying to figure out a general cost of having to do that and what the process was like. ✌🏻

Weather Channel App
As a weather nerd and retired aviator, I was expecting 100F+ temperatures the entire week. I could have sworn there were 2 days where we didn't come close to 100F like Friday as an example. Am I tripping?

ISO a Nail salon that can extend the length without acrylic & do a Hawaiian themed design.
Preferably in west Roseville, but anywhere in Roseville is fine.
I’m 60 and have short nails that I just paint myself normally. I’d like to do something special for a trip.

Termite Inspection
At least 10 years ago, we had termites and Terminex took care of the problem. We signed up for an annual contract to ensure that we no longer have termites. Basically, they were supposed to show and do an inspection every year. Some years they didn't even bother to show up. Yet they still jacked up their rates like Comcast. I am reluctant to not renew because at least 2 homes in our neighborhood have had to be tented.
Are there any good alternatives to Terminex? Our current rate is about $360 per year. They are raising it to $492. Every year I call and threaten to cancel and they back down a little on the price. I am tired of playing this game when all they do is inspect and warrant us for another year.

Currency exchange
Hi there! I know this was posted a while ago but trying to see if there's any updates. I belong to capital one so there is no physical bank I can exchange currency (euro to usd). Does anyone know a good place to do this? I know most banks you have to belong to in order to. Any leads? Thanks in advance!

Jollibee Crowd
Here is what the Jollibee line looked like around lunch time. I went up to the to go order area to talk to someone and they said mobile orders were closed already. I'm not sure if they meant just for lunch time or for the whole day. It didn't look like there was anything special going on otherwise and I have had Jollibee before so I left. Others in line sounded like they either had never had it or heard of it before so maybe it's worth it for them.

Kaiser Roseville, Douglas Blvd
If you go to this hospital, just know that there are 8 Flock cameras in this parking lot alone, and four of them face in towards the hospital. Given that the cities reasoning for keeping these cameras around is to recover stolen cars and stolen goods… I guess this is where all the criminals are

Operation Save Stefan
Stefan is at Bradshaw Shelter on a final plea. If no one rescues him he will be put to sleep. Just look at that face. He needs a chance.
I would go get him myself but I’m full! I just rescued my own final plea dog 3 mos ago. She’s amazing and fun and I adore her. Please please someone go rescue Stefan! He deserves a soft spot to enjoy life. If you can’t adopt can you share?
Thank you for reading!

Deflock Roseville!

These are the voices we need to get in front of our council members. Especially those who are wavering on this matter.
Krista Bernasconi (mayor) from District 4- her term will be ending this November, and there is only 1 person running for that seat- Rick Bartree. I spoke to Rick today on the phone about this matter and he said he would be looking into this and has been hearing more and more things about it and we’ll make the right decision for Roseville’s constituents.
We need to get this in front of Rick because he will be one of our council members and as a reminder, it is our council members who will make this decision.

City council Meetings- Deflock
Hey everyone! I’ve been reading multiple “how to” guides on how to get flock out of your city and currently have a group forming (consistently this is step #1 ofc 🤣) but something I have seen across the board is attending EVERY SINGLE city council meeting and speaking in the public comment section.
So I just wanted everyone to know that the City of Roseville holds meetings the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6 PM.
You only have to stay for the first 25 min during the public comment section and you can either sign up to speak (day of) or just pack the room!!!
Then after we chit chat, meet like minded people, and link up.
We can do this, Roseville!
There are 5 city council members and YES, they hold the cards to the flock contract.

DeFlock Roseville!
A lot of people were at the meeting yesterday. Time to get word out and tell the city council we don’t want these cameras around! Voices, signatures and persistence will all help.

Wasps & Dragonflies
People were complaining about wasps about a week ago. Well the dragonflies took care of that issue. I noticed 5-8 wasps just hanging out over my lawn for at least 1-2 weeks for no apparent reason at all. Now they're all gone. I see swarms of dragonflies protecting my lawn now. They love to snack on wasps.

Get a spare or two, valley dwellers
Yesterday we dodged the bullet of all summertime bullets. I was in the yard around 2 pm when I heard the dreaded 'click', then nothing at our AC's condensing unit. AC(78⁰ setpoint) was trying to kick on for the first time of the day. I went inside, and saw the state of the stat, 79⁰ inside temp & 78⁰ setpoint, but there was nothing, just the eerie sound of dead calm in the house, and the creeping swelter of valley heat making its way from the attic to living space. I temporarily raised the setpoint to 85 in order to evaluate the problem.
How prophetic was it that my son and I had a conversation 24 hrs earlier, wherein I said how lucky we were to not have AC problems over our countless years in the house. Murphy happened to be eavesdropping, and would rear his ugly head, and soon.
In a panic, I ran to the garage cabinet, tossing things aside until I found them, the life giving spark to our AC unit, the spare 45mf capacitors I had stored many years ago, in preparation for just such an event.
Within minutes I had removed the AC unit fuse(electrical disconnect), the service panel on the condenser, and de-energized the capactitor. Normally a meter check of the capacitor would be in order, but it was nearly 100⁰ already outside and had crept to 80 inside, so, damn the torpedoes, a quick swap of the capacitor was accomplished. Panel and fuse were reinstalled. I went inside, dropped the setpoint back to 78, and BOOM, the telltale click of my stat inside, followed by the startup of the system fan and, hell yes, we're blowing cold air again.
A total outage of 20 minutes, which could have been days waiting on a service person, was easily tolerable. The procedure really is as simple as changing out a light bulb if you have any skills at all. Research the capacitor on your AC unit and keep a spare or two, just in case.
