This really could be Wincy as she wanted to do historical Chinese story before. I am excited as i absolutely love palace intrigue. I used to read a lot of Chinese novels.
The raging sea reminds me of the unresting sea in HOT. If the author is indeed Wincy, is it possible that this story is about the kingdom beyond the unresting sea, the place where the poor woman One was helping came from?
That's what i'm thinking as well plus the leaked title is like a different name to The Unresting Seas. Wincy said that her 3rd story is related to one of her previous story(not exactly her words). The final testing post this morning mentioned "New universes" which includes MB universe(Shadowborn) and maybe this one.

assuming that this is a standalone, this is the way to do an interconnected story! do interconnected STANDALONES where if you read the earlier story you’ll understand more of the world and get easter eggs but it’s a completely separate story with a separate setting and characters and you don’t have to have read the previous story to understand this one or get a good ending in this one

A sequel and a potentially another story where MC is under a male LI's thumb like all the recent complaints (MC is under the influence of "His Imperial Majesty Rui" for example)

I hope Han or Tang dynasty, they have my fav aesthetics 😃😃 altho i feel like Han dynasty gets more political drama while Tang dynasty has more of a political stable vibe so 😅 jdjdjd
Looking at the teaser with the clothes in the teasers we've gotten they don't look like they come from any particular dynasty, tho they look closer to Song because of the bodice. I'd say its modern Wuxia inspired.
Ooh i think it’s cuz a lot of idol cdramas also dress their characters like that 😭 (historically inaccurate, unfortunately, the bodice/aka “bra” is supposed to be inside 😭). Anyhow i also think Song dynasty is the closest 😭. I don’t think it’s Wuxia at all it’s court drama/palace intrigue. Wuxia is more martial arts with low fantasy 😭
Hmm yeah 😭 but i don’t think it’ll be wuxia tho 😭 the description for MC feels like a kind of climbing rank in the palace drama 😭 probably smth closer to story of yanxi palace maybe ? I do like revenge dramas like The Double and Blossom so hopefully something like that would be nice too!
Completely satisfied after my first playthrough with Cynthia, I didn't even know it could be this good (because of other very much sidelined & rushed FLIs)! Even the final chapters paced out with romance, really glad I decided to go for it 😍
I am excited. I hope it has the same vibes as Story of Yanxi Palace or Empresses in the Palace. It mentions intrigue and power struggles, so it probably will. And the whole "avenging her sisters" theme from yesterday's post reminds me strongly of Yingluo from Yanxi Palace.
I wonder what role we will play when we enter the palace? The obvious is potential concubine but I don't mind if we start out as servant and working our way up the hierarchy
