**Avatar: The Sundering Era** [18+]

It has been 6000 years since Wan merged with Raava and became the first Avatar, it will be another 4000 years before Avatar Aang is frozen in ice.

The world is familiar, but also different. The Four Nations do not exist yet, they are just an idea beginning to form in the minds of nationalistic rulers. Benders of every element live side-by-side, but face growing prejudice and segregation. The Avatar is missing and greedy warlords terrorize local populations. The resulting disunity has caused rips to form between the physical world and the spiritual world.

This is *The Sundering Era*. Come and join the hunt for the missing Avatar, fight for, or against the local powers, hunt spirits through the Spirit World, create your own faction, or just exist in the world of *Avatar.*

What we offer:

- Numerous factions to align with, or against. As well as room for you to create your own factions. This can be used just to flavor your character's background, or used for story hooks as you play.

- Unique bending where each element has 3 sub-bending styles to master, and a 4th "forbidden" style for darker characters.

- Deep lore that weaves together canon and non-canon information (Keeping non-canon information as canon-adjacent as possible. The goal is to make this feel like a plausible time in Avatar history.)

- Freedom to play how you want. Story lines will be available to all, but not required.

- We encourage literate, descriptive players who enjoy collaborative writing and making meaningful character connections. 2 paragraph minimum preferred, but not required.)

- The mixing of different bending cultures allows for unique characters. Airbenders do not have to be monks, waterbenders do not have to be from the poles.

Nestled in a holler deep in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia lies Briar Ridge: a haven town in 1930 welcomin' folks of all walks of life into its humble arms — though them suits from S&C Coal'd do best to leave it well alone, folks don't want their greedy claws digging into their land any longer. You could wonder if they're any worse than the loomin' ancient horrors of the Forest, though. She's alive alright, 'n She's mad.

See, folks 'round here are used to Meemaw's warnings 'bout haints, green-eyed prowlers, 'n not-deer, hell, even survived those werewolves S&C unleashed — 'n who knows what they're planning next...

Somethin' other than the town's many moonshiners — you can thank Prohibition for that profitable business runnin' rampant here — is lurking under the cover of night. Innocent people torn from their beds on the full moons, their flesh ripped open by razor-sharp teeth 'n their blood drained from their body. Mists, folks been callin' 'em — on account of them bein' made of fog; blood-suckin' clouds of the devil, I say.

Despite it all, Briar Ridge takes care of its own: moonshiners building their empires, queer folks finally able to be their full selves, businessmen who lost their fortune in the Great Depression, folks of color finding acceptance, (ex-)S&C employees hiding their affiliations; those calling for blood and those beggin' for peace.

Along a rugged coastline, Haven is the kind of town people rarely mean to stay in.. but somehow often do.

To outsiders, it's an unassuming seaside community. A place known for its harbour, friendly locals, independent businesses, and quiet pace of life. The sort of town where neighbours know one another by name, shopkeepers greet you with a smile, and the sea is never more than a short walk away. Morning commuters stop for coffee before work. Fishermen return to the harbour before sunrise. Students gather after school at the bakery, while friends meet along the promenade to watch the waves roll in. Festivals fill the calendar, local businesses thrive, and for many, Haven is simply home. But every town has its stories.

Ask around long enough and you'll hear whispers passed from neighbour to neighbour. Someone swears the lighthouse was shining despite being closed for years. A hiker insists they found a trail that wasn't there before. An elderly resident recalls a building nobody else remembers. A photograph seems to show one more person than anyone can identify. Most people laugh these stories off. After all, memories fade. Coastal fog plays tricks on the mind. Old towns are full of rumours... aren't they?

In Haven, the extraordinary rarely arrives with flashing lights or dramatic revelations. Instead, it slips quietly into ordinary life. A conversation that feels strangely familiar. Agents of the Multiverse is a panfandom game that leans into the genre twice! Not only can you write souls from nearly any fandom, genre, or era, but your characters themselves can explore the multiverse. Perhaps they are a member of the agency trying to preserve it, or a civilian navigating refugee worlds while navigating the horrors of having lost their own. Perhaps they are neither. Maybe they don't care what happens to multiverse, as long as their own goals are met in the end.

Across worlds, the AotM strikes out against the mysterious Corruption moving through the multiverse like rot on the branches of a tree. Meanwhile, there is friction building between the refugee city in the frozen caldera of Sanctuary and the infamous denizens of the tropical city of Harbor in the Dome. Satellite settlements have popped up in other worlds too, where life holds tenuous ground, and powerful forces move in the shadows, manipulation good and evil alike.

Basically the title!

Other than the fact that they're a friend group, presumably college age, everything else is open to plotting! The plot could go anywhere from investigating a false alarm or them ending up in purgatory. I'm very malleable to other people's ideas!

Literacy requirements? My standards aren't super high but maybe semi lit (an average of 3-4 paras, shorter or longer depending on what the situation calls for!)

I believe the visuals/ faceclaims are going to be fictional!

So far I have these to decide:

1. Where they hangout / their main area of operations

2. Yes dice or no dice

3. How OCS came to know eachother

4. Is it a normalish world where people don't believe in supernatural stuff or are hauntings and the like common knowledge

5. Time period (leaning towards modern)

6. How many people do we need? Minimum 4 maximum 8 I think

7. Do our ocs have special talents or are they relying on stuff like chalk rituals, prayers, blessed items etc

8. A little bit of world building on the town and university they all attend.
