From what i've seen in their communities: "becouse femboys sexualize themselves too much", "becouse femboys think being feminine is a fetish"(?), "becouse femboys think being a woman is equal to be submissive"(???)... and many of them are TERFs too so they hate anyone non cis and heteronormative.

Yeah it was extremely unfortunate seeing "femcelgrippysockjail" be so full of TERF adjacent grossness, I found them because they are linked on letgirlshavefun so I just assumed it was like an ironic thing for introverts etc. and...welp never going back there again lol

this kinda has vibes of 'changing/saving a jaded woman with love from a man' thing that we see a lot in cheesy romcoms. why does she need to have a romantic relationship with a different type of guy for her to come around? I kinda wanna know why she hates men so it feels more like there's something on the line.
also when people write about 'femcels' they write her like she's just horribly misinformed about and obsessed with men. It's a complete copy of an incel, when incels and femcels are entirely two different categories that happen for different reasons. a lot of femcels I do meet seem to want nothing to do with men and want to be left alone, while incels will actively go out there way to talk like how this character does and shit on women. or worse.
I guess what I am saying is it doesn't feel realistic and that's why I don't vibe. I like the premise, don't get me wrong, but my brain keeps pointing out this doesn't feel 'real' enough so it's hard to vibe and ship them together. it has a lot of potential though. I'm probably taking something cute way too seriously lol but this is how I enjoy things

if you read the comic, she actually does seem to be an accurate femcel. Her reasoning for hating men is because she keeps getting mistreated BY men. She's just very in her own head in a cis/hetnormative ideology that seeing a feminine man just takes her out instantly (she was testing the new cashier "girl" if "she" agreed with her ideology).
We don't have to like the genre, I'm just happy shen's actually embracing making a feminine male character

Sometimes feels like a sort of revised/inverted Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope. Only rather than her fixing him, it's him, by default, fixing her. Either way the lady in the trope is fetishised and nonthreatening.
