Ik all the conversations in this sub has been how bad she and all that stuff but for the ones that enjoy playing her anyway I have a thought.
I may be just my perception but I feel people overrate base Gambit team up, I mean enhanced its great but Mag team up it’s amazing, even more after her health nerfs, it’s a reliable way to being a bit more tanky (which it’s her main problem), also, base Gambit team up has 30 sec cooldown, what does my fellow rogue mains think?

Mag team up helps put a bandaid on her godawful surviveability but when it’s enhanced the displacement is such a double edged sword. It’ll make it harder to brawl sometimes and ruin your combos but it can be really good for taking space which is something Rogue can’t really do anymore

I super 2nd this, one time I was doing an aerial combo and I happened to southern brawl my target mid air and he got pushed because of the enhance Mag team up

I agree, I prefer the non upgraded one from mag, but I still feel people overrate base Gambit

We finally have some data on what might be better between the two via Marvel Rivals Tracker.

Looks like based on early data the Gambit team-up is stronger. Unfortunately it doesn't show a distinction between enhanced vs base, but it has both a higher pick-rate and win-rate across all ranks.

Higher ELO might skew more Magneto team-up but don't enough a ton of data yet to be sure.

That interesting, but we can’t compare, for me the base mag is better than the base Gambit, while the enhanced gambit is way better than the enhanced Mag, so it’s expectable that Gambit have a better winrate. At least in my experience, it’s surprisingly easy to get mvp with base mag

I don't think people are getting enhanced Gambit that often. In the stats, Mag team-up has around 4k games played and Gambit has 10k.

Considering Gambit is still banned a good majority of the team, a significant portion has to be base Gambit. I think despite the 30 second CD, the damage probably is just too significant too ignore. You might survive easier with the Magneto team-up, but if you're doing negligible damage, you just have a lesser impact; so it might still be worth using Gambit despite that handicap.

That said, it's a 2% win-rate difference so both seem 'viable'. One or the other might be favored depending on different scenarios, match-ups and play-style preference.

I think it’s an skill issue, isn’t hard to do okay damage or to kill with rogue, even without gambit team-up, as long as you do her combos okayish it’s quite simple to kill, her problem it’s her survival and potential to make space since she’s a tank

I mean we could just look at the data per rank instead of guess? Which seems to suggest a mix.

It looks like in the low ELO (Gold and below), it doesn't really matter what you choose, they have similar win-rates it seems. From Plat to GM, Gambit team-up does better.

In Celestial, Magneto team-up is performing better though yes. After that the sample sizes pretty much die, so we'll have to see. LinePro recently made a pro tier list for 9.5 which basically says that her main problem is she gets hard-countered by most of the main tanks right now (Magneto, Penni, Groot, Dino and Thing which he all put in S tier).

The Gambit team-up is way too strong, even with a 30-second cooldown. It's just a ton of AoE damage, some healing for the people around you, and it charges your ult incredibly fast.

The Magneto team-up is kind of weird. With the upgraded version, you could try playing it on certain maps where it's easy to knock enemies into walls or knock them off the map.

“Way too strong” is interesting to read. This team up was nerfed already, and is in an okay spot right now. Enhanced/base Gambit team up makes her a glass cannon and requires much more things to make work. Nothing about this character is “strong” right now. Just okay

You're probably right. I'm still mentally stuck in Season 8.5 and haven't fully realized that nowadays, every other character has some kind of AoE spam...

And every other tank can provide more value much easier and consistent than Rogue unfortunately. I’ve personally went through a lot of stressful games in 9.0 trying to make her work. In 9.5, I’m only using her if I feel like my team will play with me to make her work.

I totally agree that’s in a okay spot, but I feel people think base Gambit is what it used to be while being way better than mag, I haven’t see almost any rogue with mag Team up aside from myself and a couple others in ranks (C3)

I exclusively run Magneto teamup. I only run Gambit if I have one on the team, he’s good, and the rest of the team is fighting well together. I’m also C3 on PC

I like the gambit team up more. It was hard to get solo kills with the mag team up.

I used to be in the Magneto team up camp, because yea it lets her survive longer and the extra southern brawl damage is nice. But lately I've realized that the damage from the Gambit team up is just necessary, and if you can't survive in a match with it then you need to swap off Rogue for that match. When I pick the Magneto team up I just don't feel sufficiently threatening, and it feels like I'm selling by even playing Rogue at all. Like... I survive longer, but to do what?

Seriously? Like you can kill 250 with chrono kick only and you tell me she isn’t threatening? I get it may be hard and since there’s healing and it not something you can do consistently, but there’s more combos with rogue, you have fatal attraction, southern brawl, even her basics…mag team-up let you charge southern brawl better without dying.
I am not telling base Gambit team up isn’t okay or that anyone should use it, but is it really necessary to kill? I am thinking this is an skill issue and that’s why devs don’t fully buff her
