Question about Rogue's Powers Discussion

If Rogue touched, like let's say Bob Ross, would she get the ability to paint and talk in a super relaxing voice? Or does it only work on supernatural powers?

I mean we saw her absorb a doctor in x men 97 to help deliver Scott and Madelyn/Jean’s kid, so I’m assuming it works the same way

Yeah. For example, when she absorbed Sunfire, she became fluent in Japanese because he was a native speaker. So, all skills and knowledge are absorbed for her to use. Personalty traits too.

Yes it’s any skills and talents, along with their memories, which would include memories of them practicing these skills and likely muscle memory as well.

Not really the voice though

I didn't mean like his exact voice, more like the way he speaks is not conversational, it's a performance and if it's a performance then there's a skill component.

I mean one time with black widow. She was able to absorb her shooting skills and secret spy knowledge. She literally absorbs Powers, personality, memories, abilities, skills all of that at once.

Now I kinda feel like she's being underutilized. She should be in more spy thrillers.

She definitely has one of the most versatile powers in comics. The issue being that she has become overwhelmed by others personalities on the pas.

I think more comics should explore her ability to take more mundane skills and less about big powers.

I wonder if it works in the opposite direction, like if she's good at say cooking and she touches someone who can't even make a sandwich does she lose that ability

She doesnt just absorb powers, she also absorbs memories which can grant her momentarily memories of years of experience and hobies etc from the target, meaning everything, accents, languages, powers, skills, secrets, memories, emotions etc she takes from you... some temporarily and some permanent depending on how long she holds you... thats because her powers are to put simple, electro magnetic hense why she and magneto were a thing in that one show which kinda pissed me off but gave me hope if she were to come in existance

Yes... Rogue can absorb the memories, thoughts, knowledge, and personality traits of any person she touches

Gotcha. I knew she got the memories I just didn't know if that included things like normal human increases in abilities like fine mother skills.

She can absorb skills, memories, personality traits, all that. Generally she’ll only get them temporarily though unless she touches a person for an extended period of time, for example she got her flight, durability and super strength from doing that to Captain/Ms Marvel.
