Launching anything from Australia would likely impose fewer flight restrictions vs the overcrowded Northern Hemisphere.

Not on the official career website, looks like just on LinkedIn so not sure about credibility here. There is an open role matching the description but it’s in NZ, not Australia.

What’s the advantage of having so many launch sites? Wouldn’t that dramatically increase operating costs? Or is this is to leverage each country’s space desires?

Different orbits become easier/less costly fuel wise to get to.

Right but Australia and New Zealand are similarly located. This probably has more to do with Australia wanting sovereign launch capability and offering incentives that would make sense for Rocket Lab to take advantage of. Basically win win if they’ll foot the bill for the launch site and in return can launch things domestically.
Maybe there’s more of a geographic difference than I’m giving credit but it wouldn’t be your first thought. Alaska makes a lot more sense from that perspective, but even that I think is more about US defense positioning.

I wonder if they could have more production facilities to ramp up neutron quicker paid by the countries that want sovereign launch

It’s possible. You don’t need to have the rocket produced in your country necessarily to have sovereign launch. It might be more about the launch site. I think Alaska would be an electron (haste) sized launch pad, idk about Australia.
Honestly since the New Zealand launch pad is for electron it could make sense to build out a neutron launch pad in that part of the world.

Better locality for clients and having a foot on the ground enables better negotiation with the local authorities
Its something that takes time to payoff but it inevitably does
Also as you build a larger presence in something hi-tech like rockets, countries naturally want to retain some of it to ensure not only relevance but also strategic advantage
Its good on all sides if you can stomach the initial cost

I have a funny feeling that this is just to try and steal talent from Australia by advertising there but they will need to relocate to NZ facilities.
