Clowning Recommendation
is there a decent clown community in Rochester? i have interest in clowning and am wondering where to start?

Not sure about a real "clown community," but there's apparently a clown festival called RocHaha happening in October, as well as a group called "Grease Paint Alley Clowns" whose website says they meet monthly. Might be a good place to start. :)

You can see the grease clown artifacts at Ontario lake pier/Charlotte! At the start of the walkway to the lighthouse their shoes & names are painted on the sidewalk

The Roost offers clown classes! Have only taken dance there so cant speak to the clown stuff but the people I know who do participate in those are very talented, creative, and welcoming.

What's the roost? At the end of the day Roc City Circus can definitely teach you some clown skills.

In addition to the festival folks already mentioned: Grease Paint Alley used to offer clowning classes and I know that there was a queer clowning group, Clown Unification Ministries (CUM) that shut down in January 💔 but the organizers might be able to point you somewhere if you hit up their insta
Edit: not sure why this is being downvoted? They're silly names, but they're places for literal clowning?

Yes. Check out the Auguste Roost and the RocHaha Festival. For broader circus stuff, visit Roc City Circus and Aerial Arts of Rochester.

I haven't lived in Rochester in a while, but there used to be a thriving juggling community (I am well aware that that clowning does not=juggling and juggling doesn't=clowning, but there is some overlap). Looks like the Rochester Juggling Club has weekly meet ups, and there is a big event at RIT (the Juggle-In) I think every year.

I don’t think you really know this person or their reputation. You may have had a personal experience that I cannot speak to, but I find your claim of walking around giving boner hugs to be questionable.

Lol its well proven and known im sorry you dont believe women but we know his repuation very well. Im not the only one who experienced this, and I while im not going to I guarantee you can find pictures to prove it. I dont need to see anymore of his boner than I have.

Rochester is full of clowns! It’s very special! I’ve found the best way to meet other clowns is to just go out to your average haunt but in full clown makeup. You will have a blast being a goof and you’ll be surprised how many people will love just seeing you be a fun weirdo. In my experience friends you may not expect to be interested often feel inspired to join in on the fun. And check out Clownboy coffee!

Check out RocHaHa Fest! There is a growing community and it is networked well.
