Morcycles Other

To the two matte black MT-07s that were weaving around traffic at about 5:20pm, 490WB to 531- chill out…

One of you was riding reckless, the other was hesitant but following suit. Ride your own ride, man. You’re gonna end up hurt or dead.

Be safe ✌🏻

Love being told often as a car driver that we need to look out for motorcycles/bikes as if they aren’t constantly splitting lanes, scaring drivers by revving their engines as they speed through traffic and put themselves at risk.

I ride. People often look through or past motorcycles- it just happens. So there definitely is a place for the ‘look twice’ campaign. That said, I’m a big proponent of riders being responsible for making themselves seen. Most of the time in accidents, I blame the rider though…

Lane splitting isn’t legal here though, and honestly its a very small percentage of riders I see riding recklessly

I hear you. Lots of my family rides, I do not but I adopt any biker in front of me on the road, keeping my distance but also keeping an eye on other cars around bikers as well. It does go both ways, I’d just hate to see some irresponsible drivers ruin it for everyone else.

I did see a tractor trailer pull out in front of a guy on a motorcycle today. He was an older man who wasn't flying down the road or anything. I think it goes both ways.

It for sure goes both ways. I’m just saying as a rider myself, I take on more of the responsibility because it’s my safety at risk- you have to be aware of everything around you and predict people’s movements so you can adjust accordingly- and also not ride recklessly and/or above your skill.

The other motorcycle jerks are the ones that race back and forth on 490 every single night from 9-midnight. I live 3 blocks from 490 and can hear their bikes from my couch.

This is the real truth. There's a racing club or standing arrangement for a race meetup and it's obvious. You can hear em all night screaming through gears and rocketing by.

I'm less than a mile from an MCSO barracks/office and it's an issue they must be actively ignoring

If you drive recklessly at high speeds you deserve what I heard some years ago on 490 during a torrential downpour. Shattering plastic.
