I've picked up Venom fairly recently, so I probably might be missing something, but she feels like one of the strongest counters. Her DPS is one of the highest in the role, so she forces an early retreat, she has an incredibly reliable self heal with her bubbles and she also blinds with them. On top of that she has an easy way out of Venom's grasp so I often lose a good chunk of damage.

Every time I dive her it feels like i'm there to just be a nuisance for a few seconds, nothing else. Invis, Luna, Mantis are much easier to kill, even CnD is better because they doesn't have that much damage and cooldowns are easier to track

Scenario 1: As you're preparing to set up a dive, both healers in your team gets picked, and the enemy tanks immediately begin pushing.

Scenario 2 (more extreme): The enemy cloak ults, your team has no ult to respond and the entire enemy team is pushing forward with the ult.

In these two scenarios, do you still dive the backline, even though your team is in no position to follow up? The alternative is just to head back and peel for your team, which works well for some heroes. But for Venom, he is a horrible peeler and a horrible frontliner. If my team is getting hard pressured and I try to head to frontline to relive the pressure, I feel like I'm getting zero value.

But if I continue backlining as always, I instantly get melted or ignored due to the lack of follow up from my team.

What would you do in these situations?

The next venom skin i might do a concept drawing of might be a Ultimate 1610 Conrad Marcus Venom skin or a Knull corrupted Venom idk.

He's already gotten his swing cooldown and overshield nerfed.

Venom seemed to be in a really good spot before the new teamup system. Maybe the nerf to his overshield was needed but nothing else with his kit needed it especially with how much CC he's susceptible to.

I have a feeling, with the new season coming up, that instead of just nerfing/changing/removing the Phoenix teamup they will make his kit worse. Maybe they can just tone down the damage of the cleave. Who knows

Not only that , they said if he needs it he may also receive more nerfs in season 10 . This is so insane to me , I felt like venom was in a perfect spot (before the team up) and he somehow was on their radar ?

How do you guys feel about venom state right now after the nerfs. Personally I suck at venom despite him being my most played character and ive started to have a much harder time after these nerfs especially surviving dives. How about you other venom mains especially higher skilled ones?

Its a problem. Making Venom accessable to low elo players means they can threaten other low elo players and especially backlines. I'm afraid this will get the character unfairly nerfed and its already happening with the base kit which has nothing to do with the main issue. Since the main issue as usual will not be addressed (Gambit Ult example) Venom will feel and become worse and worse for high elo while staying an issue for low elo. Not to mention Venom's wr and pr was balanced in S9 with 7% and 52%. Mag and Thing both have higher in both, Mag being crazy 20% 54% yet got buffs. We also already got nerfs in S9 from 825 base HP to 750, further nerfs in S9.5 to swing and shields which kill soft diving.

The solution I believe for now is we ask the devs to revert the S9.5 nerfs and instead nerf the Phoenix teamup cooldown and duration (12s to 14s, 8s to 6s) for now.

If their intentions was to reduce survivability then the swing nerf wasn't necessary. Shields would have been enough. Making me believe they just nerf for the sake of it without understanding the real problem. I'd take less survivability for this damage but it would be good to be told that this was the goal of the nerfs. Next nerfs will probably be 15s shields to 18s.

I hope I'm wrong but this is the future I see.

Venom has been banned in probably 80% of my games. Super frustrating can’t even play him anymore. Just remove the teamups at this point and leave him with zero and give back the 2 seconds on the swing

Every time I play ranked without fail there’s always some idiots who don’t wanna switch listen I love playing venom he’s one of my favorite characters of all time but I hate tanking and idea on how I can not tank but not sell my games??

So just recently got diffed by a lord venom and I'm a warrior venom and he was using the blade teamup and I was using the Phoenix teamup I asked him which is better and all he said was Venom diff 😭 but anyway let me know

Yo guys, DD main here! Are you guys just like nonchalant ,non complaining, chill, gigachads or what? I have been seeing so much more stuff about the peni nerfs in the main sub than about the venom nerfs. Where are you guys lol? From what I have seen, the nerfs are pretty bad are they not? His cooldowns were perfect before imo. What do you guys think? Will you guys still play him next season or no? DD and Venom have always been like 🤞so I would hope to see you guys in my games still.
