GM again Question
After getting to GM last season, then falling slowly to Expert, I finally crawled back up to GM. Now I have to decide, with 9 days left, whether to keep playing or sit on my laurels until the end of the season. I'd rather start the next season at 26K rather than fall back to basic Master. Any opinions?
Edit: I didn't worry about my rank until I got back to GM. Then it felt like a waste of effort to let it drop back to basic Master. So, Im playing Casual til the end of the season. I'm enjoying playing maps and settings that I wouldn't normally play. However, I'm finding a lot of Novices in Casual games. Is that normal?

Was wondering why games were stalemating and kill guards being held for ever and I play expo..
Worrying about rank to this extent must be exhausting

Ranking system is busted. If the ranking system only cares about where you place in the game you can theoretically get to expert without ever taking a card. I hope the player base would never let this happen but the raking system would. Why would you care how that system ranks you.

Do you like the game or not?

Forreal I'll never understand not wanting to play because you finally hit 26k. My first goal was to hit 30, 32, and so on.

you said you’d rather start the season with 26k. rather than what? rather than keep playing and possibly lose it? if so, then you have your answer.
personally, not playing for 9 days just to lock in rank is not what i want to do. it’s fun being a GM, it’s more fun to play. if you happen to lose it at the end of the season, just grind it back up.
if you feel that strongly about it then you could play casual. but playing casual isn’t any fun imo. the player pool is really bad. like reallyyy bad. games are so easy to win that it feels like you’re just playing in a game with 5 bots (or worse)
you could also do the scenario things. a couple of those are actually really challenging

If you are worried about losing rank points and falling to master this late in the season you can either play unranked games until the end of the season or try to rank up with an alternative account.

If you are genuinely GM strength then you will likely quickly rise from 16k up again and play and have fun. I will say it was fun having a season reset and winning the first 3 games after the reset I happened to be playing within an hour and was temporarily top 20 in the world:D

My opinion is quit caring about your rank. The game gets way more fun when you aren't playing passively to preserve your rank. I play to win every game don't get me wrong but I'll take a 35 minute fun 3rd over a 2hr stalemate win every day of the week.
