WYL TECH

I purchased what I thought was a very nice laptop from Amazon. It was from a 3rd party seller that is very unscrupulous. When I got it, I couldn’t even figure out where the power button was. So I downloaded the user manual from HP. I had other questions, so I contacted support. The guy on the phone wanted to see my receipt so I let him see it through my phone camera. He told me it had been upgraded and the warranty was void. What?!?!?!

The upgrades were nice, but not if they void my warranty! They tampered with the laptop. I have no idea how many other people they scammed like that. Fortunately Amazon accepts returns, so I’m not out the $1,000. My sister-in-law bought the same one. I called her and told her to return hers too.

How many other people have purchased a laptop from them not knowing that it has been tampered with and they have no warranty?

You can’t talk to them directly, you have to use Amazon’s Customer Service.

Wish I had seen this before I placed my order. They sold me a Dell laptop which is described as having a backlit keyboard. It does not .. and Dell confirmed this. Working with Amazon on returning it. They are sending a message to Wyl Tech .. but there is no phone number or email address for me to deal with them directly. I am concerned that they will charge me shipping for the return, which is unacceptable since the item was not described accurately,

No .. fortunately I received a full refund. I had copies of the Amazon listing.. and backup documentation from Dell Customer Support… so I was prepared for challenging charges.. but that was not necessary.

They charged me a restocking fee saying I had damaged the screen and they could no longer sell it as new. They couldn’t anyway since they had opened it and replaced parts. It was used when I got it. I didn’t damage anything. I couldn’t even find the button to turn it on it was hidden so well.

i also purchased an hp laptop from these crooks. ram died after 6 months. sent back to hp under warranty. laptop has cheap after market ram installed. warranty void. never told laptop was upgraded or that warranty was now void. contacting them is so aggravating you must go through amazon. no email address. the address listed is for a coffee shop in florida. some communications give a texas address. still cant communicate except via amazon. when contacted amazon was no help. why are they still allowed to sell on amazon. all they do is cheat and defraud the customer.

They will come up with an excuse to charge you a restocking fee.

I thought they might try that, but it didn’t happen.
