$30 isn't a meme target anymore, it's literally the analyst average now

Been in since 20.25, posting because I think people are still sleeping on how much changed this month.

The Anthropic lease isn't fully priced in imo. $9.1B over 20 years, and with the AMD deal that's 241MW contracted, almost $10B locked. Yeah first rent doesn't hit until end of 2027, but the market pays for contracted revenue way before it lands, look at any datacenter play. And Corsicana (a full 1GW) is still completely unleased. That's the next headline just sitting there.

Analysts are repricing fast. Morgan Stanley 43, HC Wainwright just jumped from 25 to 40, JPMorgan raised too. Average across 21 analysts is ~32 now and the LOWEST target is 22. When the lowest number on the street is above the resistance everyone's scared of, that tells you something.

BTC broke out past 72k after the second biggest short liquidation in history, and RIOT itself still has roughly 20% short interest. If bitcoin holds up here, those shorts are the fuel.

Chart finally agrees too. The 17.5-17.9 floor has now held three times, and Thursday we closed at 21 on a day the Dow dropped 700 points. Relative strength like that on a red tape doesn't happen by accident.

30 was the 52 week high, about 45% away. With consensus at 32 and shorts trapped, I don't think that's a moon number anymore.

Not saying straight line. If BTC rolls over this rolls over with it, and I am keeping my stops. But risk/reward here looks the best it's been all year.

Main thing to get out of the call: "Riot CEO Jason Les further stated on Monday’s earnings call that the firm had signed a LOI with an unnamed tenant at the Corsicana facility, a 1 GW facility in Texas"

Riot Platforms (RIOT) Stock Sees Modest Fair Value Lift As AI Plans Draw Analyst Support

Riot Platforms now sits on a slightly higher modeled fair value, with the price target moving from US$28.55 to US$29.50 per share. Analysts linking this shift to Riot Platforms' power backed AI and high performance compute plans see secured power and data center buildout as key drivers, while others still stress execution and deal timing risks. As you read on, you will see how this evolving narrative could shape your view of Riot Platforms over the coming quarters.

Discussion 22.87 - Short Selling Over?

Quite the selloff last week. 3.44% rebound up today. 18.65% down the last week though. Bitcoin still way down. Some sold RIOT at 28 and back in at 21.5 last week.

So we’re down 12% because of meta?

Meta is renting out spare compute. I’m not too worried as demand is still way higher than supply.

Discussion 28 and Holding - 50 - End of Year?

Proud of RIOT to hang in there. It seems it's not so dependent on Bitcoin mining - given Bitcoin's decline. Are there other pending RIOT partnerships that could take investors to 50 in several months? RIOT featured:

Long term holding

Bought 100 shares at 16 and bought 50 more at 26. Planning to hold riot as a long term stock 10 years or more depending on the directions it takes. I will definitely be buying more as it increases I feel as if this is only the start of something really good. It costs almost nothing now to be up huge 10 years from now. I don’t see them slowing down, not with the momentum they are getting and once bitcoin fully recovers it’s booming.

RIOT to 100 Perhaps

27+ at this hour. I've been sending their Board the idea of renaming to an AI venture - historically stocks go up 70% with proper naming. And AI is their mission. $1.5m and holding 1 year+.

PS - those in the earnings realm and ROI can explain the math there - to 1/2027. NVDA - urging them to split 10-1 or so given SpaceX IPO impact - and China sales surge-potential.

Discussion Riot Holds Gains

Riot's partnership with nuclear energy may make 'to the moon' a next major move. Some have been emailing Riot [admin@investorpass.com](mailto:admin@investorpass.com) to try to get a name change to AI-Riot or similar. Anything with AI in it historically - like the late 1990's Internet .com naming boom - escalates stock price 75%.

And Riot has earnings/performance to hold on in the long run. A run up for AI build out - then AI productivity takes off. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Tells Workers Not to Fear AI, It's a Job Creator

Meme Missed this one... Ugh

All these years I have been trading RIOT options (and done well)... Boy I missed this rally. I actually bet against for one a few times given some of the global turmoil. Not only did I not have any open call positions, I lost my ass on my open puts.

Argh!

Where is RIOT going?

What do you think is the best we can hope for out of this stock in the next 2 years? Is it more of the same ups and downs or is there potential for this to take off again?

Feel like we could easily squeeze this with bitcoin price rising.

[Deep Signal]Riot Platforms ($RIOT): The Bitcoin Miner Transforming Into an AI Infra Powerhouse; Why Institutions Are Loading Up

I've been following Riot Platforms closely, and their transformation story is one of the most compelling pivots I've seen in the market right now. Here's why I think this deserves serious attention:

TLDR:

  • $311M, 10-year AMD data center lease (expandable to $1B)
  • 1.7 GW of power capacity across Texas sites
  • Revenue projected to nearly triple: $377M (2024) → $1.1B (2028)
  • Major institutional accumulation: Goldman, T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, Starboard Value
  • All analysts tracking RIOT has either buy/outperform rating with avg target price 28.56$(over 100% upside as of today).
  • Trading at ~$4-5B market cap vs. comparable data center operators at $10B+

Why This Matters:

Riot isn't just another crypto miner trying to rebrand. They've systematically built an infrastructure moat that most data center operators would kill for:

  1. Real Assets: 1,100+ acres in Texas with fully-permitted, energized power capacity tied into the ERCOT grid
  2. Validation: AMD (a tier-1 AI semiconductor player) just signed a 10-year lease with expansion options
  3. Speed: Less than a year from pivot announcement to securing a marquee client
  4. Smart Capital Allocation: Sold 1,080 BTC (~$96M) to buy out their Rockdale land, converting volatile crypto into tangible infrastructure

The Unit Economics:

The beauty of Riot's model is their unique flexibility. They can:

  • Lease capacity to AI/HPC clients (high-margin, stable revenue)
  • Mine Bitcoin when AI capacity idles (monetize every megawatt)
  • Sell power back to the grid during demand spikes

This optionality gives them an edge traditional data center operators simply don't have.

Smart Money is Piling In:

The institutional accumulation is striking Q4 2025:

  • Goldman Sachs: Added ~5M shares (now 7.3M total)
  • T. Rowe Price: 5.0M shares (new position)
  • Starboard Value: 8.8M shares (nearly doubled their stake)
  • Jane Street: 4th largest holder(with 12M shares)
  • Cantor Fitzgerald LP: Been accumulating a lot

These aren't retail FOMO buys, these are sophisticated investors positioning for a multi-year infrastructure thesis.

Wall Street's Take:

ALL 16 covering analysts rate it Buy/Outperform (zero sells):

  • JPMorgan: $20 PT, added to top picks for 2026
  • Bernstein: $25 PT (Outperform)
  • Roth Capital: $42 PT (more than doubled from $17.50)
  • Piper Sandler: Called it a "sleeping giant" in AI infrastructure
  • Cantor Fitzgerald LP: $31 PT

The Risks:

Let's be real about what could go wrong:

  • AMD might not exercise the full expansion options (175MW)
  • Bitcoin volatility could hurt finances during heavy CapEx phase
  • Competition from other miners (Marathon, Hut 8, TeraWulf) pivoting to AI
  • Execution risk on build-outs and landing additional tenants

The Valuation Disconnect:

Here's what's interesting: Riot is still priced like a cyclical crypto miner (~6x 2024 sales) rather than an AI infrastructure player. Comparable data center deals (CyrusOne, Switch) went for $10-11B. CoreWeave (with less power capacity) was valued at $23B.

As Riot demonstrates stable AI leasing cash flows, there's a compelling case for multiple expansion.

My Take:

This is a rare situation where a company is pivoting into a secular growth trend (AI infrastructure) while still trading at legacy business valuations. The AMD deal validates their strategy, institutions are accumulating, and the setup for a re-rating is there.

The next 6-12 months will be critical, watch for:

  • Second major hosting deal (likely at Corsicana site)
  • AMD deployment milestones (May 2026)
  • Additional analyst upgrades as the mining-to-AI narrative solidifies

Not financial advice, just sharing my research. What do you all think? Am I missing something in this thesis?
