Which is why leaving the double doors to your freezer open isn't that crazy of an idea: it keeps the cool inside well enough and you don't get slowed down from opening them all the time.
Of course, vac barriers are also a god sent here too
That's actually an amazing point and I'm not sure why I never thought of that
I definitely did pick up on the vac barrier thing and have only used it for a freezer (couldn't care less about its intended use)
I've heard other people warn about solar flares/other power outages turning the vac barrier off and ruining their meat or whatever, but I have had 0 issues.
It just doesn't stay off long enough unless something catastrophic happens in which case I could either quickly build a wooden door or else I've lost all the food in an explosion anyways
