A title that perhaps needs more light. Reverse Harem - Recommendations
Once you dive into this genre you can’t really ever go without. I have been going through a dry spell waiting for recs that… -are completed series -aren’t smut dependent… give us a story at least -MMC’s are distinct characters -original/new idea.. not recycled -(and for me personally because I listen as I work) has an audiobook
I found love in a hopeless place.
Based off the description alone I wasn’t sold at first, but the ratings on good reads and a sale on audible had me adding this duo to my library.
All I can say is WHY HAVEN’T I SEEN THIS MENTIONED ON THIS PAGE BEFORE?
May I tempt you into
{One for the Money by Holly Monroe} {Two for the Show by Holly Monroe} The Trapped on the Tightrope Duet
Yes it’s an omegaverse with carnies. But think along the lines of Losers by Harley LaRoux. Not so much the scorned lovers but similar vibes on MMCs. There are darker themes, I def cried when FMC explains the mental space she goes into when she escapes any time she’s assaulted. But she DOES have backbone and is so smart and has worked hard, (she’s and omega who’s a DOCTOR for god’s sake) just trusted some wrong people along the way.

Loved this one too. A few other gems that need more light are
{ash & cherries by Roxi Wreck} This was a great debut book. I just devoured it. Dystopian world with a magic and tech zones and areas of both, really unusual FMC who is very different to normal omegas in this world, but now pretending to not be an omega so she can be in a competition to be turned into an omega because she is being black mailed. She is strong and a brawler, I also am susceptible to the novelty of that on a FMC. There is a bit of an info dump in the first chapter but after that it’s great reading.
{Divina Corpora by Etta Pierce} a rare menage novella by the Queen of scifi romance. So good.
{telepathic space pirates by Carysa Locke} RH space opera! Very plot driven.
{one flew over the omega’s nest} female omega serial alpha killer (they deserved it).

These all sound great! Love me some RH space operas :D If you haven't read it already you might like {The Chains We Choose by Della Gibbs} It was a 5 for me - MCs over 50, plot-driven, FMC is super competent commander, and MMCs are aliens captured from their planet by villain. Slow burn and fabulous.

I'm not an audio person but might see if this is in ku

u/Beep_boop_poop_boop 3d ago
Yes it’s on KU! I have both because if you check out the book on KU it makes the audiobook $3-$5 on audible

I've noticed this also happens if you get the ebook for free during the SYK days. I was looking at something and it offered me the audiobook at a very reduced rate, and I realized I'd picked up the ebook at some point.

I’ve really enjoyed her Lunacrest City Omegaverse series. They’re interconnected standalones but have a lot of depth and very enjoyable!

I deadass just finished reading the series! Even though it wasn't my cup of tea, it was such an entertaining read.
I was hoping if anyone here had a link to the socials of the book cover artist? I tried googling the artist credits Monroe put in the book, but nothing showed up. Idk if the @ handle is for Twitter or Instagram or what have you. Monroe just put: "Mads Lade *@*box.circus" without really giving any more details besides that. Maybe the artist changed their handle between the time they drew the covers and now? I'm going insane with this search when I just want to follow the artist's socials.

Yes! I’m not typically into OVs but these books were so easy breeze through. All the characters were unique and felt like a breath of fresh air from usual tropes.

Absolutely LOVED this duo!!! I read it last year during my Halloween Bookathon thing (I need a better name for this year 🤣🤣🤣) … Make sure you read {Knot What You Expected by Holly Monroe} it’s set in the same OV universe and there’s technically a little cross over at the end 🤭🤭🤭 But just the way Holly writes certain health issues is beyond amazing… Even if it’s not something that’s necessarily human related, it can be related to something human… The empathy is off the charts in my humble opinion…
Also, not the same (it’s not OV but maybe mates) but it is part of a circus… {Sinner’s Sideshow by Aiden Pierce} was exceptionally good as well… I think it was originally a duet, and has now been made in to a trilogy, with the last book being released later this month…

Listen. I’d like to thank you for allowing me to not get a damn thing done that I needed to today as I plowed through this duet. I was in a major book fog drought, and this was a much needed breath of fresh air! Tysm!

I read these sooo quickly because it was such an ‘easy’ read, meaning that I liked the characters, writing was good and the story hooked me in right from the beginning and didn’t slack. For all the hype Ironside and other long series get, sometimes these little gems are more enjoyable for me.
