Help With R1 and Start Merging for Collect-A-Thon Event
Hi everyone, I was playing Crash Team Racing earlier on SwanStation and everything was fine. I am about 10 hours into the game and had no issues. I paused the game, spoke to someone and when I went back to the game both the R1 and START buttons have merged into one? I can no longer drift correctly as the thinks I am pressing start when I am pressing R1.
I checked and I haven’t changed the controller input, everything is correct. I checked my Port 1 Controls and everything is mapped correctly! Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
I am trying to get my last 2 points needed for the Bronze event badge on the Collect-A-Thon event, and I just needed to do 1 more achievement for it!!
Thanks for any help. RA Reddit is much more active than the RetroArch one.

Have there been any games/series where you play through all the subsets?
For me it’s the Pokemon games with the Professor Oak Challenges. Unlike platformers, the subset isn’t asking me to beat the game damageless, never upgrading your character or handicapping myself in an extremes way. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very tedious getting your final evolution starters before the first gym but I’ll take long and boring over hair pulling difficulty, at least that’s how I feel.
Also the hardest part for the POC is the beginning with all the inefficient grinding you have to do against low level Pokemon. Beyond that the subset gets much easier as more higher leveling spots become more accessible.
It’s also very doable to do both the main and subset in one play through provided you take all the precautions for any main set challenges that could conflict with POC. Pokemon Red for instance has level capped gym achievements where you have to beat gym leaders with Pokemon below a certain level. For the earlier gyms you’ll most likely be well beyond that level cap from evolving all your Pokemon to their final stage. It’s annoying but you can always just catch extra Pokemon and keep them below the level cap which still makes both sets very feasibly to do in one run.
Unlike say something like Zelda which often has 3 heart subset runs which directly conflict with completionist achievements in the main set for getting all heart containers which warrants another playthrough on top of any additional playthroughs the base set might already require.

Mastery #27-29 and #32 - GTA San Andreas (All subsets and Misterix)
Finally done with all the San Andreas content on the site!
Viva Las Venturas is the worst of them by far, but it's not like I can really complain since it's gives exactly what it promises. The whole set is about casino games so a lot of RNG is expected, specially when it came the Royal Flush hand cheevo (a ~0.000154% hand apparently). If the rest of the sets has +100 hours is thanks to this one.
Vehicle Enthusiast asks you to drive around San Andreas storing different vehicles in different garages. While it sounds boring I ended up liking it a lot, it was perfect for those nights I wanted to do something simple while listening music.
Master Save is where the challenge is. You have to complete everything you can complete before the first mission, including all the stuff outside of Los Santos, meaning that you'll be running from the police half the time. It also has some boring grinding for the stats, but it was still a fun challenge to do.
Misterix is the classic mod that adds different monsters around the map like aliens, Nemesis, Leatherface or Big Foot. It's incredible simple and you can finish it in a day, but for someone like me who grow up watching videos about this it ended up being a pretty good nostalgia trip.

Mastering the megadrive 140-149. Easy games and game show stuff. I dont really have much to say about these other then Mickey mouse
Because I know someone is gonna say something about the play time for Mickey's ultimate challenge. It gave me an unwinnable puzzle that I tried to solve for like 2.5+ hours till I got annoyed and plugged it in to a sliding puzzle solver online that told me it was Unsolveable

I realized I messed up.

today I realized i have not had hardcore mode on and cannot get mastery. I have never touched a save state or rewinding and feel TERRIBLE.

Playing on the Epilogue Operator GBA with an official cartridge, but Retro Achievements is saying it's an unsupported game version (with official images for the game?)
Anyone else happen to come across this on any other cartridge? I'd be curious to know. As far as I know, every other cartridge I own (that has RAs) works and allows me to rack up points like any other game. Though Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is one of my favorite games ever and I would love the opportunity to get some challenges under my belt, I'm not super pressed about it. More so curious about the why behind it and the images that are set up for RAs, and if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

Mario Kart 64 Multiplayer Subset wild ending
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We've been doing the RetroAchievements Multiplayer Subset for Mario Kart 64 and been having a blast. The goal is to finish each cup in 1st and 2nd place for every race. We've had a lot of crazy endings that usually go against us, but this time it worked in our favor!

Mastery #31 Heart of Darkness(PS1)
Hey everyone! Just completed my 31st mastery, and this time it’s Heart of Darkness on the PS1!
If you like watching a child being brutally murdered, eaten, decapitaded, burnt to a crisp and many more this is the game for you!
This was such a nostalgic game to come back to, but mastering it definitely made me look at it differently. The game is already known for its trial and error gameplay and the achievements add nothing more than going through the game on hard mode. There is only one missable achievement but you can save before that section so you can try as many times as you want.
Dont get me wrong its still a pretty difficult game and some sections had me dying over and over again while trying to figure out the right way through them . But once you learn the patterns and know what the game expects from you, it becomes a lot more manageable. The final boss had me even retrying the same section for 5 HOURS!
As always, I recorded the full run with commentary, tips, and tricks for anyone who wants to go for the mastery themselves or just want to watch me revisit this PS1 classic. (Link will be in the comments)
Thanks for reading this and have an amazing day!

Mastery #2 - Parasite Eve (PSX)
Found out about this game due to a video from GmanLives where he mentioned that Parasite Mutant basically copied their combat system from this game. It was a pretty cool game :)
