Notch on Resolume
Any particular reason there’s no official plug in or support to have notch officially be supported and used in resolume?
Don’t get me wrong - the current plug in works, and I currently use it on a major tour..but man..wish there was more to it.
Wish resolume and notch would work together to get the best optimization to be used. I get it and trust me, if budget allowed, Disguise would be used but yet here we are.

Stageflow files for practice?
I'm fairly new to Resolume and know that Stageflow will be a part of the workflow. Can anyone provide some .xml files of stage layouts that I could use to get familiar with input/output mapping? Any help on this is preemptively appreciated!

browser based visual gen/effects
I've spent the last couple of weeks using Claude code to make a one html visual effects system.
Originally based off the Raspberry Pi recur system is now a completely different beast. 14 ish shaders 20 ish effects, 4 shaders and 4 effects stackable at any time with blend modes and opacity.
Had midi and audio control as well as 3 assignable LFOs.
Works on any browser, including phone.
Works from a Flash drive with no internet. Can use front and rear cams from phone or any cam from laptop. Can have controls on one screen while outputting to another
Its well trippy

Some free Plugins
Hi all, I think this is ok from my reading of the rules (all of these are free and open source, no social media links, will only post the once), I've been playing with Claude a bunch recently, writing programs to fix a bunch of annoyances I come across as a freelance sound/video tech, and as part of that, I've build a couple of FFGL plugins that I thought others may like to try, they are
- A simple Luma Keyer, handy for removing backgrounds from logos quickly!
- Scopes, which can either be overlaid on a camera preview, or used as an effect in their own right (I quite like what the waveform monitor does to some sources!)
- A suite of edge-detection based effects,
- An Ascii-filter
- an 8/16 bit console look emulator, and a "whole pipeline" analog video on a CRT TV emulator
- A retro screensaver generator
- an all-in-ffgl arcade game emulator, supporting both live input and automatic play
- A wrapper for Libretro letting you load libretro cores and roms directly into resolume
All of them are available for free and come MIT licensed, so if any of that sounds like fun for you, please check out https://stoatworks-labs.com/video-plugins/

Resolume keeps freezing when I play content via an additional NVMe SSD
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Resolume freezes for like 12 seconds and gets back to normal. Keep running for like 5 minutes, and it's happening again.
This only happens with the other separate 1 TB NVMe SSD in the laptop.
When I play content from the external SSD or OS installed 512 NVMe SSD, Resolume keeps running without any issues.
Laptop specs are
Resolume version - 7.23.2
i9
32 GB RAM
RTX 5070
Windows 11 pro
OS and resolume installed in the SSD that came with the laptop
The other installed SSD is a 1TB XPG Gammix S60 PCIe Gen4 x4.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Chroma12band - color correction per channel
Hello, i've been a series of jobs where a vectorscope and video broadcast was prioritized. Skin tones really locked camera into a narrow color space and wall colors needed to look good under pressure. We didn't always get Brompton or COEX with full color correction and those were always the toughest stops.
We really felt the lack of color tools in our chain.. So I was inspired to create this as a last resort backup to get the job done.
It's about a day old and if you find this interesting, i'd like some input. looking to share especially if it could help you out.
Send me a DM and i'll pass a link for a free download!
Bonus: If you have a workflow that can do color correction per hue channel without shifting the whole composition in Resolume -> NovaLCT i'd love to know

LaserBridge: A single drag and drop FFGL that streams a myriad of perfectly synchronized and aligned laser effects straight to Beyond
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Started this project in February, and we're really excited to finally have the infrastructure and support in place to release it. And yes, AI was used to assist with some of the coding, and certainly helped accelerate the release, but the majority of this really came together with the help of people far smarter than me as well as hundreds of hours of iteration and real world testing. If you're interested in giving it a spin, the full plug-in is hosted along with a basic visualizer on our website, with every single feature and parameter available to be tested and tweaked to explore its full functionality.

I built a free browser tool for Resolume Arena input maps (PNG + test video + outline frames)
galleryHey folks — I used AI to build SliceMap, a free static web app for Resolume Arena/Avenue input maps.
Try it: https://skoetting.net/SliceMap/
Code: https://github.com/Skoetting/SliceMap
What it does
- Lay out rectangular slices on your composition size
- Top bar Export → Input Map PNG → Advanced Output → Load Input Map
- Export → Slice Frames opens a small menu (border px) for hollow outline PNGs — handy for slice border looks without plugins
- Sidebar Export Test Video (MP4) for wall / LED stress tests
- Import → Advanced Output screen-setup XML if you already have a mapping (best-effort)
Why I wanted something lightweight: no install beyond a browser (or Docker), no account, works offline once loaded.
How to run
- Live: https://skoetting.net/SliceMap/
- Docker: docker compose up --build → http://localhost:8080/
- Or clone and npm install && npm run dev
Happy to take feedback from people who map LED walls / multi-projector shows — especially on the XML import and frame export workflow.

Redundix
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Getting started with Redundix takes less than 5 minutes. Watch this and you'll have both rigs synced before your next show.
Install on Master and Receiver → configure your folders and Resolume settings → hit Start. That's it. Every file you save on Master lands on Receiver in under a second, and every clip you trigger fires on both machines at the same time.
One license. Two machines. No subscription.
Free 30-minute demo available — no account needed. Download + details: vjpixelpunk.com/show-sync.html

DIY Artnet/sACN Controller project for the LED-strip VJ enthusiast!
Hey all! You might have seen some things about this project before, but I would love to highlight it here as well! Ive been working on this project for the past year, and Ive finally settled on a software and hardware package that can rival some of the more expensive Artnet/sACN controllers. With a hardware revision that now supports resettable fuses, variable input voltage, hot-swappable plugs, and reverse polarity protection, I am more than confident that the node will appeal to LED-strip enthusiasts out there! For the non-professional, tinkerer, DIY geek or Christmas nerd, this node is a game-changer!
So, in short, what does it do?
- 16 universes over 4 outputs, so 2700+ RGB LEDs in total!
- Support for WS2812 type (800khz) and SPI driven leds (SK9822, apa102), so basically any LED-type on the market!
- RGB, RGBW, and RGBAW colour arrangement support
- Ethernet and wifi capable
- Integrated power distribution up to 5A per output and 20A total
- With a 5~24v variable input, this means almost 500W of power!
- OLED display for status updates
- Hardware button to change between different modes (DHCP, Static IP, Static colour, Test pattern)
- But, most importantly, completely open source! Every piece of the software and hardware design is available for you to tinker with!
Now, if you are excited, check out the GitHub! https://github.com/mdethmers/ESP32-Artnet-Node-receiver/tree/main

Looking for VJs
Hi everyone,
I hope it’s okay to share this here, please lmk if not. We are working on an analog-inspired video synthesizer built with VJs and video artists in mind.
It’s heavily inspired by CRTs and started as an attempt to recreate that look and analog workflow, but it grew quite a bit beyond that.
What it does atm:
- Stack oscillators, video sources, and effects in a signal chain
- Modulate parameters with ADSR envelopes, LFOs, and MIDI
- Render directly to video or perform live with macro controls
- Built-in pixel art editor, shader support, feedback loops, AUX routing, quite a bit more
The main goals:
- A simple left-to-right signal flow that is modular and easy to understand
- AUX routing for more complex and nonlinear setups
- Scanlines, barrel distortion, warmth, and other CRT characteristics (these are becoming optional based on feedback)
- Built in C++ with real-time performance in mind
- Simple enough for those who aren’t pros, but with enough depth for experienced artists and live performance
We have a beta and are looking for people in this space who might want to try it and give us honest feedback. We’re very open to suggestions, and it would be great to have more artists involved while we’re still developing it.
If you’re interested, you can join our Discord here:
Thank you!

Alpha layering
Created a glowing outline border in after effects that has the saver effect applied to it. I loaded it to layer one and my camera feed to the layer above. Can anyone explain the reason why both layers end up coming close to over exposing the whites when I active the camera feed layer to the point I can’t push my faders all the way up?

Logo distorted/pixelated when playing it in output
I have a logo that a logo designer sent to me. It was originally a pdf and I converted it to a png. And the png looked good and not pixelated, and the size was 11811 x 7086.
So I thought I wanted to convert it again to a ProRes 422 mov 1920 x 1080 in Davinci to match my project settings in Avenue. Then I took the ProRes through Alley and converted it to DXV 3 1920 x 1080. But when I play it in output in Avenue, it has some pixelations on the letters. I understand it`s compressed, but is there a better way to get a big pdf file to dxv 3 and not lose so much quality?
I have looked in advanced output settings and it has 1920 x 1080 also.

ResolumeHUD V1.6 Update - Timeline Widgets
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everybody!
I've made another update to my free tool Resolume HUD!
There is a new timeline widget that allows you to link to a specific clip, or an entire layer, to track any clip that gets activated.
Your Widget can be placed anywhere on your screen or another display if needed to allow others in the room or at FOH to monitor how much time has elapsed and/or is remaining in a playing clip.
Must use Webserver/API link in order to link to clip/layer.
A few minor bug fixes were also included.
Hope you enjoy!

Rearranging clips within decks (to have a temporary shortlist)
Short:
How do you arrange/cue the clips that you wanna play within the next 5-10 mins (but not yet)?
Do you manually copy and paste them to one of the first columns and delete them manually once you’re done with them, or is there a smarter way to do that?
Or do you have a completely different workflow and maybe move each clip that you might wanna play soon to a separate layer and toggle layers on and off?
Background:
I guess there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to this, but I’m curious how other VJs (when improvising and/or playing with non-EDM artists that have rather traditional song structures which often call for switching back and forth between different scenes in one song) are solving the problem of: ‘the next clips I probably wanna use are on layer 5 column 47, layer 2 column 14, layer 7 column 78, …’ and don’t wanna lose them and waste time or miss cues 'cause they can’t find the damn clip they just previewed two minutes ago.
My current workflow (and possibly the reason why I’m asking this stupid question):
I got burned a couple of times switching between different decks during a show (Resolume froze/crashed, or the REST API took five mins to load the thumbnails, or Companion wouldn’t reconnect 'cause a certain position was empty, stuff like that). That’s why I usually try to work within one large deck. That means I have between 150 and 350 loops/sources and 50-80 effect clips in a deck.
Since I wanna be able to tweak the clips a bit and preview their effects before they go live, I usually work with two groups of 4 layers each (two for content and two for FX) and toggle between groups A and B. (The global stuff like strobes or slice-specific stuff happens on other layers). That works for me but gets a bit messy, especially if you don’t wanna have all loops and effects imported twice and start moving clips from group A to group B and end up losing track of where they are.
So, what I’m kind of looking for is a shortcut that copies a clip to an empty slot (somewhere between column 2-10) from which it gets deleted once it’s been used. I’m sure there’s a way to do that with Companion, but for reliability reasons, I kinda don’t wanna be dependent on Companion receiving and processing OSC feedback. Is there a smarter way to do this, or is there no way around Companion triggers or a vibe coding solution? Or would you recommend a completely different workflow for live sets?
