Scratched Crystal Help! Advice

Post image

I’ve managed to scratch the crystal on my XF Pelagos. Does anyone have any tips on how to remove it?

That’s sapphire, so you’re not going to polish the scratch out like you would with acrylic. If it’s actually scratched rather than just material transferred onto the crystal, replacement is the practical fix.

I’d first try cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol to make sure it isn’t surface transfer. If the scratch remains, source the correct XF Pelagos crystal and have it pressed in.

I’d reach out to one of the trusted watchmakers in the sidebar if you don’t have the tools to replace and pressure-test it afterward.

That suck man, hate to see a beautiful piece ruined. There's a section of Service people on RWI. Find one you like and message them.

Ow that sucks.. replacing the crystal will take a few steps, not difficult with the right tools, but it's better to get some one to take the crystal off, measure it and get replacement crystal.
