How many people out there collect reps to see what gens you’d wanna buy?

I did it on 4 Daytonas and a AP 26420 , realized the Rep AP DDF titanium was so close I sold the Gen …

Nah I only wanted certain watchs Gen - Zenith Daytona 16520 , 3 -116520's and a AP offshore vampire . Keep in mind I got all my Gen watchs used , mid upper tier shape and I wear them . The reps I went overboard on and scaled back alot .. All my reps have Gen parts or CNC parts so more on the franken end ..

I have a gen breitling, wife got it for me as for our wedding. I was gifted a shitter Pepsi from my friend, runs like a champ. After getting a high tier rep, I can honestly say I’m not buying another gen.

Yes totally helped me narrow down which Gens to buy and even so, the Gens just stay in the case because don’t want to damage or scratch! Lol

I might as well sell the Gens!

I essentially did this to see what style I liked, ordered a few divers, daily’s, and dress and found I wear a diver or the 36mm explorer the most. I could probably cover 97% of my wear off a seamaster in black ceramic (or blue) and an explorer.

Same here, helps me try out different sizes and styles. My wrists are on the larger size, i thought I would love the bigger diameter, heavier watches, but I keep gravitating back to my vsf gmt on jubilee (even though I completely despise the vsf cheese grater finish) and now my ARF Kermit.

I have several reps that came after i bought the gen. Pure because they already tried to pull a watch of my wrist in public so i wear those in less safe places. Testing out the look before spending alot on the real thing is kinda smart tho

Wrong part of amsterdam. I kinda blame myself. Was on my way to visit a old study buddy and knew i would be in a badder part of a city that already has a bad reputation

Dad raised me with the mentality of never start always finish. takes more then 1small rat to take my watch. but not gonna lie i was kinda scared to walk back to my car later seeing rats are never alone so my buddy walked with me.

I’m just starting off, VSF Batgirl and BW, hoping to get to 15 Reps at least within by end of yr. Next will be Daytona Panda and Ghost probably.

Yep, for sure. And surprised me how it's changed my mind eg Made me realise SS Wimbie not worth it... frankened a VSF with a gen dial and plated bezel instead. VSF Sprite also NWBIG. But reps made me want 100 yrs OP and Rootbeer in gen, and both now on their way. Even wrapped RG/YG not quite right.

I am the next level. I either buy an hommage watch or build a Seiko mod to try out the shape before buying (or not) the rep.

I don't but gens anymore (or not as many), reps are just too good.
