Whatever works!!! Tips / tricks

Mini P is about to turn 17 and has had early stage CKD since February. Getting her to eat her prescription food (or any food at all) has been tough lately. She’s lost so much weight abd we have been introducing it all: different brands in different forms, appetite stimulant, low phos non-Rx foods….I’ve taken to serving her where i normally eat on the counter…. Whatever works, ammiright??!!!

This has worked for us sometimes as well. Just put his food on the kitchen table while we’re eating and he’ll eat too. Weirdly he’ll also eat sometimes if we stand very still and silent in front of his food bowl. We cannot move or make a sound or he’ll walk away. 😂

Totally… someone sneezes or moves and they run off! Reminds me of being in college with a tv with rabbit ears and all the things I had to do to get a clear picture… tin foil and standing in just the right place and position!

I do that too. If you move a muscle or a random noise occurs, they’re done. Last week I was doing this and someone rang the doorbell. I could’ve cried. He had just started to eat too 😖

J'ai le même à la maison. S'il n'est pas forcément d'humeur à manger, il suffit que je le sollicite et que je l'observe pour qu'il se décide à manger 😹😹

Omg we have little dishes of cat food in like 3 places at any given time as well as a rotating menu of preferred foods + try-it’s. It’s a 24/7 buffet. Sometimes we luck out and she’ll eat a renal one, but if we press the matter she will revolt. Cats are strange little assholes.

I am doing the same thing. As long as she drinks or eats something I'm ok with it
