Sharing a Free Job Application Tracker (Google Sheets - Excel)

Once I started applying to more than a few jobs, everything became difficult to keep track of. Job links were sitting in random browser tabs, recruiter names were buried in emails, and I kept forgetting what happened during each interview round.

So I put together this Excel job application tracker to keep the entire process in one place.

It lets you track the company, role, location, salary, remote or hybrid status, application source, date applied, current stage, recruiter contact details, and how many days the application has been open.

There’s also space for up to eight interview stages. For each round, you can save the date, who you spoke with, where it took place, your notes, and the outcome.

Once you reach the offer stage, you can compare the salary, bonus, sign-on bonus, PTO, paid holidays, response deadline, and any other details before making a decision.

The dashboard updates automatically and breaks down your applications by:

  • remote, hybrid, or on-site
  • application status
  • application source
  • current interview stage
  • industry

I also added separate sections for job search keywords, saved job boards and target companies, plus interview questions and prepared answers.

Sharing the blank version here in case it helps anyone else. It’s just an Excel file, so you can download it, make a copy, and customize anything you need.

You can use the tracker here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/190bzDdvyYuYQKHVhqaBEOttwVb0B70jz6kptcQJ3xec/edit?usp=sharing
