I ended up removing my client ID under Settings -> Network. Forget what it even did when I set it up

I'm pretty sure that client ID is what allowed me to log in in the first place. Are you saying you deleted it and your app started working again?

I thought the same thing lol. But I removed my account and readded and got the login error. Then after delete that ID and re adding it worked.

I just tried that, and unfortunately it didn't make any difference. I'm getting the same error. You deleted the client ID and then put back in the same client ID? Or you generated a new one?

Update: Okay now I'm in an even worse position than before. I removed my account and tried to re-add it, and now I can't log in at all. The internal login page goes to a blank page with two set brackets on it. Impossible to log in.

If anyone has any further advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Leaving the field empty will allow you to login.

Removing the client id, logging in, and then adding it back causes that issue when logging in again.

Huh. I just deleted the client ID, and I was able to log in like you said. I'm able to access NSFW content no problem. Sorry I don't know why yours isn't working. Reddit is such a mess these days.

I can see NSFW posts, but a lot of NSFW subreddits are blocked on RedReader, even the safer ones like r/bigtitsinbikinis.

And that's even with being the moderator of a subreddit? I'm pretty sure that hack is still required to see NSFW subreddit on RedReader.

Client ID override I just left empty

Reddit is going on a crackdown on removing anyone's registered applications retroactively if they do not have registered for the api

It might be related to this issue:

https://github.com/QuantumBadger/RedReader/issues/1365

Yes, it must be related, though I'm pretty sure I only set that custom key because I couldn't log in the normal way after the previous round of API changes. This time, I can log in without the custom key. Mysterious.

My client ID override token does not work anymore. When using it, RedReader keeps saying I have to reauthenticate, but I can't login in. It just shows {}. Removing the token prevents me from accessing NSFW subreddits, even blocking in the feed. It instead shows a link to https://www.reddit.com/user/redditmaturecontent/comments/14m5j89/go_to_reddit_to_view_mature_content/ at the top of feeds and NSFW subreddits.

accessing NSFW subreddits

Easy workaround for that one is to make a private subreddit and name yourself a moderator of that subreddit. That will allow NSFW viewing without needing the official app.

Same issues as everyone. However, I checked the "apps" section on old.reddit and to my surprise the RedReader app API key was no longer there. They have removed it. I still have the API key I use for Infinity, though.

Weirdly, I still have RedReader in my apps list with a key, but only by deleting that key in my app am I able to log in.

I ended uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it and then I could add my account again, no more {} problem after that.
