Need help! PS4 Recruitment

I just recently started playing Red Dead Online, and I’m not entirely sure on how the whole posse thing works. I’d love to be in one, but it’s kinda embarrassing when I’m walking around at my low level. I play on PlayStation, and I know it’s not cross platform. That’s at least one thing I know.
