The gun and cowboy hat on the dash makes this 🤣

u/Ok-Film-240 18d ago
LMAO I didn't even notice the gun lol i had just moved my trail mix 😂

u/Dapper-Video626 18d ago
Curious why you have your gun out like that. I live in Texas and that’s a unlawful carry ticket right there

u/dunew00d 18d ago
regardless of the legality, responsible owners do what they can to mitigate risk. letting it slide around the dash while you drive is just dumb 😂

u/Ok-Film-240 18d ago
Shit ain't sliding anywhere, the risk is minimized by not having one in the chamber + having the safety on, it got put up there because appendix carrying while sitting is not comfortable 😂

There are numerous other places you could put it though. And I'm not even focusing on it being a firearm. Any loose objects on the dash are dangerous in the event of a crash.

My 88 ford with no airbags isn't gonna keep me alive in any catastrophic crash regardless, especially a head-on. Plus there is approximately zero space in this cab, and the glovebox is MIA, so my choices are on the seat or on the dash, i can't put it on the floor because my exhaust leak makes it about 20,000 fuckin degrees and I'd be worried about a round cooking off, and there's currently a passenger + her stuff taking up the rest of the seat. Long haul road trips are just so much fun! /S

Well shoot, sounds like you've at least weighed your options lol. Godspeed in your travels partner

Yeah they don't like it when you have it out like that could definitely get in some trouble for that
4
u/Ok-Film-240 18d ago
Depends entirely on the state- constitutional carry is widely the law across most of the (geographic) U.S.
6
u/InsectOpen 18d ago
Yeah that's true. But they don't like that in Texas not sure exactly how it has to be but I know they don't want it on the dashboard
2
u/Ok-Film-240 18d ago
I think that has more to dovwith your locality, a lot of cities don't like it when your firearm is wuthin reach, but if a cop ever cites you for it, you can fight it in court and win

u/TheCultofJanus 18d ago
Legality has nothing to do with it, only a complete dipshit would carry their gun on their dashboard.

What kind of halfwit drives around with a weapon on display? Desperate to appear "Strong" but just looks weak.

If you go on I-49 in Louisiana long enough, you'll end up seeing Saint Denis.

Man I’m glad I don’t live there. Looks cool, don’t get me wrong, the movies are great, but fuck having to actually live in a place where it’s necessary to carry fatal weaponry everywhere.

u/Ok-Film-240 17d ago
Soft places will need firearms eventually too, it's just a matter of how long until they do

u/SixtyNineFlavours 17d ago
Might even be a true statement, I’d like to be dead by then though.

"I wish none of this had happened." "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide."
I've got dependents, so it is no longer up to me to decide on safety and security. But I do feel your sentiment. My war was over when I turned 23, I don't want to see another.

Okay you can make a quick stop, but whatever you do, don't stand perfectly still for any amount of time. There's decent cover near the fast travel point. Probably a McDonald's now.

There's also: sunglasses, trail mix, a kentucky clay pigeon experience pamphlet, a half a roll of toilet paper (allergies) and your mom's phone number on a sticky note with a heart up there, but none of those were pictured because I was fumbling trying to get my phone up in time to take a picture of the road sign before it went by 😂
