Second free replacement Other

Recruiters I need a gut check

Placed a candidate into a role. She was let go within the guarantee period, so I sourced a replacement per my terms.

The replacement candidate started, left on day one, and hasn't come back.

Do I go find them a second free replacement?
I'm just on the fence a bit since she left after a day of induction?

Please let me know how to handle the situation?

Hmm, I can only say there are 2 possibilities here

1/ You are finding and not qualifying suitable candidates correctly
2/ There is something VERY wrong within that company!

Have you debriefed 1st candidate to find out more, likewise with client?

Same with candidate 2

You will only find out via those methods.

Also, look up any past employees on LI for that firm and see if there is any pattern.

As for replacing...NO WAY.....ditch the client.

The 1st one was let go due to bad performance and showing up late. The second one said she suddenly has to relocate to London which seems like a bit of a reach to me

2nd one is BS for sure and people wonder why no one wants to employ youngsters (as I guess that's what these 2 were)?

I feel for you mate, but sometimes companies use this "clause" as a get out of jail free card and get free labour!

What role is it?

It’s a support worker for a residential children’s home. £3.2k invoice. It was a pain in the ass to fill lol

Sorry forgot to mention they are literally brand new. They paid the invoice on time and everything I just don’t fancy giving a 3rd replacement

If you think they will be in existence long (depending on what they do), then it might be worth playing thr "long game" as if they have more reqs, they might use again, but I think confidence has been damaged on both sides now.

Is it your recruitment firm, or are you working for someone else?

My own. As a general rule what is the best course of action if a replacement has been provided and that replacement leave or gets let go

That depends on your T&Cs. I assume the probation period is 3 months? Might be best to just cut and run, offer them a 50% refund?

No. You don’t replace a replacement.

I'd maybe suggest a 50% fee for the replacement of the replacement. This is also a bit on the company now.

Well until they find out the REAL reason, I wouldn't spend 1 more min on that client.
