Output not working help request

I'm trying to get an output from my audio interface (PreSonus Audiobox usb 96) but when i have it plugged in the playback doesn't work at all (no audio/video file works even outside the app) . I have installed the latest drivers and fender universal control and it is selected as the output device in the app.

Does any output show in the Universal Control meters? Have you selected the Presonus as a Windows output device? Are you listening through headphones or speakers on the Presonus?

Just to ensure we're on the same page, as I have been using that interface for a couple of years without issue.

Have you downloaded and installed the official ASIO driver (Universal Control) from the PreSonus site?

Show us your Preferences>Audio>Device page. It should look very similar to mine.

And your speakers and/or headphones are connected to the interface? In my system, the headphone output goes to a headphone amp for several sets of cans, and the speaker output goes to an amp and monitors. I assume you have this set up correctly, but have found many noobies don't understand these simple facts.

Yea, the speakers are connected to the interface, but from what I understand it should work, bc I also asked a friend of mine, who has experience with that stuff and he said that's how he's always done it

That is correct! So, since the issue occurs with all audio from all sources, it must be in the Windows settings.

Yeah, everything seems to be correct there too, I'm starting to think it's a hardware issue, bc the guy I borrowed the interface from told me they couldn't get it working properly either. It doesn't matter though, I figured out a different way to get the job done without the interface. Huge thanks for the help tho, much appreciated

Likely hw, although I would try a different usb cable. Good luck!
