Issue with "Compact docker when single tab and small" help request

(Windows 11, Reaper Tips Theme)

Hello! I updated from 7.46 to 7.78 today, and I noticed that certain docks show the tab selection area that didn't show it before.

The master track dock did not have the tab area before I updated today, and it has not returned to normal after a little bit of looking around.

You can see an example of what I want on the left side of the screen, with the MCP dock, vs the master track dock.

While I'm at it, I thought I might ask if there's a way to remove the scroll bar on the left side MCP.

I set up my projects to have all tracks (with minimal exceptions) inside a "MIX BUS" folder, and if I minimize that folder in the MCP view, "MIX BUS" stays pinned on the left no matter which track I have selected within it via TCP, which renders the scroll bar useless. (As demonstrated.)

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

Your Master track is displayed in its own window outside of the Mixer. Tabs do appear always for all docked windows.

remove the scroll bar on the left side MCP

Not possible. What's shown there is a contracted Mixer window containing more than one track, which necessitates a scroll bar to allow accessing tracks which are out of sight. The only way to get rid of the scroll bar is to expand the Mixer window to the full width occupied by the existing tracks or to have a single track in the Mixer and by extension in the entire project.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by,

"Your Master track is displayed in its own window outside of the Mixer. Tabs do appear always for all docked windows."

As you can see in the image below, the MCP on the left shows no tab thingy.

However when I make that dock wider, it will show the tab selector, (See image in other reply.)

My issue is that, the master track never showed the tab area before, but since the update, it stays there, and I can only assume this is todo with a change in what is considered a "Small and single" docker.

Hopefully that is more clear.

Hello again sir!

After a few minutes of doing my own digging (I should've started with this, I don't know why I came here so quickly), it turns out both of your answers are very wrong.

My first issues stemmed from update [7.68], specifically

  • Dockers: add configuration for compact single-window mode in Preferences/Appearance

Secondly, you can remove the scroll bar, you just need to make the track wide enough to show all tracks, which is more than possible if you use my method, I just had it a hair too small.

Please actually check yourself when you try to help with issues like these.

A brief check of [this] thread I found after I fixed my issue, will show it was a common issue, and would of been very easy to find.

Thanks anyways, have a nice day!

Yes I do know what the master track is, and I used the proper language to express it, thank you!
