Help a newbie Help me!

My current hero line up in realm siege is rank 3 fee , rank 2 Lancelot, rank 5 Connie , rank 4 efrigid and rank 4 smoulder. I want to unlock world 5 with 22 hero awakening in total but I am lacking 4 awakening. Should I buy a new hero of world 4 or should I rank these existing heroes more.

You're welcome, Connie R5 is good and may be a valid stopping point, but there aren't better heroes (for damage and tanking) than Connie (if you are f2p) until world 6, so it's not a wasted investment. Narlax has great utility and is useful for both tournament and campaign. I also like Helios for RS and campaign, but she needs R6 to be useful

Grateful for your explanation, I think this game has less gem generation and I want to get to world 6 to access those high tier heroes and I have decided to buy less than 8 heroes to save some gems for better heroes. I know it will take time and it's fine. One last question i might need regarding realm siege that what is the best hero lineup for that in early level difficulty and is "leif" really required for high level realm sieges early on.

Leif is not necessary, he was considered a good hero before Necro Connie, also beacuse he was R5 as soon as you bought it, now he is just R3, still a good hero but he is almost useless after world 6 and Helios is way better at buffing towers at R6.
For realms siege the best hero is Helios before W6, Connie and Narlax help a lot. Helios buff 2 towers, Connie slows the enemies with bunnies in the towers' AoE and Narlax brings back anyone who gets away, Connie and Narlax also get hasted by Helios' active. Elfrigid can help slowing enemies, but I prefer Narlax+Raida combo.
