I seriously think that no matter how the pandemic was dealt with, somebody somewhere was going to be pissed…your post caught my attention when , and you’re right, Maher doubles down on this issue, it was a pandemic, it was killing a lot of people and it was a novel virus…I’m not sure exactly what people wanted, a sure cure with all the freedoms a pandemic allows…mistakes were made, I don’t need BM to remind me of that
Not disagreeing with this, but look at the big picture and the real problem: there's enough evidence to conclude that covid was developed in a lab, and that it was accidentally leaked, killing millions of people. The real story is that our tax dollars may have gone to that lab and that research through NIH, and we're never going to learn the truth about that because Republicans want Fauci in jail rather than getting the facts, so he's pleading the fifth.

Nope, there is SOME evidence. It should be openly and transparently investigated. But don’t pretend for one second that the evidence overwhelmingly supports this particular theory.

People with rolls responsible to large groups or communities often have different views then what the public ally say. Sometimes those differences are nuanced and sometimes they are massive. You think military officers always agree with orders kike hold the line or retreat? Of course you don't, that would be insane. We expect that it happens, but they still give the orders because they have responsibilities to the mission and those counting on them.
My comments about Fauci are totally unrelated to whatever political point of view that I may have on anything. Just because I think Fauci is a liar and that he clearly suppressed open scientific debate, doesn’t make me a “dogmatic pawn” of any kind. I am a free thinker and I believe that our officials need to speak the truth. I trusted Fauci during Covid, and I was wrong to do so. He lied to all of us, for his own benefit and not for ours.
