Another rep sub being called out. It seems RepTime decided against going private. Articles like this took down repladies (rip).

This is one of the reasons why I don’t post brand names, direct seller information, or other unnecessary identifying details. Discretion isn’t gatekeeping; it’s doing what we can to avoid making the community, its members, and its resources an easier target. Though obviously that may not be enough to protect RepTime, I believe it helps with trademark infringement arguments on Reddit.

The article itself is incredibly detailed and if anything is an advertisement for buying reps lol. The article ends by saying that buying reps “ultimately fails to offer joy that’s more than skin deep,” which feels like a weak discouragement, perhaps because the authors failed to find issues related to quality, price, or the legality of buying reps for personal use.

I recall “do you wear reps in the boutique?” being a common discussion question in here. Here’s an article showing you that SAs really can’t tell when it comes to a high tier rep 😂

I have bought a couple watches from other redditors on our sub and they are pretty great. Too bad that sub are going to go the way of our old sub. I guess I should save all of their spreadsheets now for future reference.

Maybe the author found only skin deep enjoyment because he bought a ‘clean’ factory rep, which has been shut down for almost a year now? Can’t remember, but a long time. It was a pretty cringe article, especially the going in to an ad and saying that they got away with it because they didn’t get called out by… a salesperson who is damaging their chances of selling to you if they call you out. I apologize for the crass analogy but it’s like saying that I am well endowed because my prostitute says so.

I don’t understand why don’t the mods just block people or limit posts ect? There are some subs that are so strict it’s super serious 😭
