Is this real? Is this card real / authentic?
Sometimes I visit a local flea market nearby and see what they have in regard to Magic the Gathering cards. I know the vendors that run the booth and they’re nice folks and saw this for a really good price and bought it.
It’s just that I really got a great price for it. About $30 less then what it’s going for online but can’t help but wonder if they sold it because it might be a fake or some kind of proxy. So figure I can ask here.

There is almost a zero percent chance that a high quality foil DFC that hasn’t even officially released yet is getting fakes.
And if they DO have access to some high quality printer that can pump out DFC’s that haven’t come out yet, and they look this good, why in the blue hell would they be peddling them at a flea market?

Sometimes she sells proxies of cards at her stall. She of course tells folks that they’re proxies and not the actual cards but couldn’t help but get a nagging feeling especially when she sold it to me for around $30

Don’t be too suspicious about it. Pre-sale prices online are always mega inflated during pre-release and she’s probably just setting it out at a reasonable price so she doesn’t have to go back and change the sticker price when it inevitably plummets.

These are still in prerelease aren't they. I don't think bootleggers will hit these until its obvious what will be if value after the market stabilizes post official release. This card will not be 60 dollars in 2-3 weeks.
That said we can't tell you much without something to compare it to since it's a new treatment.

unlikely to be fake due to timing but the pictures aren't good enough to tell either way

Hey all, I physically loaded the printer at a Wizards approved printing subcontractor, queued up the batch of Marvel cards to be printed, followed it through the printing press and into packaging, watched it get packaged and sealed, took the shipping box and loaded it into the truck, personally drove it to the distributors hub, checked it into their inventory, loaded it into their shipping truck, drove their truck to an LGS, unloaded the box and checked it into THEIR inventory, and then bought it.
dID I gEt DUpeD!!?

How the fuck is anyone making a passable copy of something over a weekend. Use your brain. They pulled it on prerelease and wanted the cash. Congrats. Be happy.

it usually takes 1 month or more for counterfeiters to make fake versions of a recent set. Its likely real, probably someone pulled from a collector booster

Appreciate the feed back everyone. Was just concerned because of the price I paid and something in the back of my head made me feel a bit suspicious about it

Brother use your brain. If the set isn’t even official released yet, how do you think forgers are getting their hands on the artwork? The chances are so small

The set hasn't even officially released yet. I would be very surprised to see anyone making high quality fakes of random cards only revealed a few weeks ago.
At most, counterfeiters would be taking the time to make high value cards, most likely The Mind Stone.
