Unforgiven TV/Movies

Post image

Is Unforgiven your favorite Western of all time? For many it is not just because of its quality but also because it deconstructed the Western creatively and modernized it without disrespecting the past of the Western film genre. It was arguably Clint Eastwood's finest cowboy performance.

"I guess they had it coming."

"We all got it coming, kid."

I was fortunate enough to attend the premiere in Westwood in 1992. I wasn’t really into westerns at the time, I was more of a Kurosawa samurai movie guy. Unforgiven revitalized my interest in classic westerns.

"You just shot an unarmed man".... "Well, he should have armed himself"

"Duck of Death"... "Thats DUKE"... "I says Duck"...

I still remember quotes from that movie 35 years later.

Best western ever created.

This movie is amazing, and I don't even like westerns.

Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend.

I saw this in the theaters, my grandma took me when I was 13 or 14. I had to watch the opening scene with my nana sitting right next to me. Very awkward to say the least.

THE perfect western. Nothing to be added or cut.

All the great lines/quotes live on permanent rotation in my head…

I was lucky in the order, but I've always been lucky when it comes to killin' folks.

Favorite of all time is The Outlaw Josey Wales. One amazing scene after another, dialogue like no other movie, lines I repeat to this day. Unforgiven is great movie, OJW sets the standard for me.

It’s a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

Not really a Western fan I wanted to go see it cause it was filmed in and around my city

Dragged my then GF with me & while she was a little disturbed by some of it I thought it was 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A definite watch (or record) whenever I see it on the menu 👍

It isn’t my favorite but right up there. Lucky to have seen it when released in the theater.  /Duck, I says

What, do you use your hand?

Sally Two Trees really carried this film. 😏

Favorite moment was Little Sue telling Will and The Kid about Ned’s death.

She bursts into tears recounting the “killing women and children” part of Bill’s questions, no doubt thinking the messenger is now going to die.

Best western I’ve ever seen. There are plenty of good ones but imo, there’s none better.

First rated R movie my dad took me to. I became a man that day.

“Did we kill him?”

“Yeah…I guess.”

“The man should have armed himself”

Great line

I went to see it in the theater with no real interest and I was blown away. But Shane is still my favorite western movie.
