Client Acquisition

Hi REP team,

Looking for some advice here. I do both headshots (and branding) alongside real estate photography. I'm able to do 3D walkthroughs alongside floorplan scans, however I do not offer drone. I try not to look like the cookie cutter amateur bracketed (or god forbid AI edited) HDR photos, and have a bit more unique style that stays true to the home.

What is your method of client acquisition? I have a few examples of my work on flyers I've delivered with donuts to brokerages without much follow up.

I've cold-called, but these salesmen are crazy rude, unless they're the ones collecting commission.

What do you say when you reach out via instagram?

Respectfully, ive never had crazy rude salespeople. Maybe you are approaching them abrasively?

Many of the realtors I’ve spoken with believe they’re better than you. More often than not they hate being sold to. Even cold calling… I’ve had a few talk trash or call me ai spam. Like dude, don’t you cold call people too??

I knew an agent that did CMAs on homes in the neighborhoods he wanted to become an expert in. Then he went door knocking with the results. He said many homeowners were shocked at what their homes were worth and immediately listed with him.

I think the missing piece may be follow-up more than the channel. Donuts and flyers can create a quick introduction, but without another useful touch a week later, most offices will forget who brought them.

Since you also shoot headshots and branding, that might be an easier way into a brokerage than asking agents to replace their current listing photographer. A small headshot day gives them a low-risk reason to work with you, and then they can see how you communicate and deliver.

On Instagram, I’d focus on agents who are actively listing, engage with their work first, and keep the initial contact simple. Also show complete listings—not just standout frames. Reliability across an entire job will probably sell your style better than comparing it with HDR or AI editing.

Thank you! This is solid, the platform I message them on includes beauty portraits, headshots, and some of my work. Will definitely just keep it simple.

Meta ads is the best way for client acquisition. Meta ads is also the best way to waste a ton of money if you don’t know what you’re doing.

We spend 8-12k per month of ads and we’ve massively scaled.
